Santísima Trinidad by OCCRE [COMPLETED BUILD]

Everything looks very nice. The sheeve in the jibboom is an especially nice touch. Tricky to achieve without breaking the delicate surrounding wood and having to start over. A dilemma I have found myself facing more than once. Great progress, wonderful detail.

Pete:)

Thank you Pete.
every day I learn new things and definitions .
Indid, the process was very stressful , but carefully i managed to drill some small holes and send them to the right size.
drilling the hole for the pully pin was also very stressful not to split the wood.

I know whereof you speak. The whole process you described is very familiar, with a potential disaster lurking around the corner with every step. One little "oops!" and it's aaaaall the way back to making the whole jibboom all over again!Cautious
Nice job!

Yeaaa, i actually managed to break the mizzen topmast part , twice ! when trying to make it.
Lucky me it takes only about a week to get new metrials from OCCRE , and they are very helpful in that way .

Align and gluing the three masts
the Fore and the Main mast was perfectly aligned, the mizen mast needed to be tied up and held while the glue was drying

I too agree with Jack and Paul.
May I add my hope that you, your family and loved ones are safe and well in these, the most difficult of times. I am glad you are able to focus on your wonderful model.

Sincerely, Pete

This is very nice work. Peter pointed out the delicate cut you made on your jibboom sheave. I second his praise. That cut leave very little room for error and one slip of a #11 blade and you could be starting over. Also, I just realized your approach to extending the lines on the mast top plans to ensure your alignment is correct on the support beams is a great method to use. And you end up with wonderful mast tops!!

I I have this kit, but put it on the shelf for a bit. It is not a kit for a beginner and while I do like Occre as a company and their customer service is extraordinary, the plans do require some additional research by the modeler.

I hope you don't take this too seriously and ultimately it is your decision, while I do like the color scheme very much and is the same I used, the color white is WHITE! It seems just a little bright. Perhaps once you've completed the model you might experiment, off ship, making a wash that you can brush over and mute the color a little. I rarely critique modelers as our builds are our builds and subject to our own desires. And if this is the case and you wanted to have the color white as bright as it is, just disregard my suggestion.

With that said, I love the work you're doing and wish you continued success my friend!!

wow. very impressive!
I can only agree with Jack... this is beautiful work!

Thank you very much
