Would it be easier to leave the backstays until after the running Rigging? Access to the deck level would be easier for the belaying racks, and they are on the outside so easy to get at themselves.
I would like to change my last answer to this
The main mast ones are really a problem... probably sould have done it the other way arround
 
I must admit that the sails don't work for me compared to the rest of your work on the ship - the weathered colour looks good but the seams look out of scale (too large) and the sails too small. Maybe they look better if you're there. Sorry, this is meant in a constructive way.
