Santisima Trinidad [COMPLETED BUILD]

Haven't been posting progress pictures, it all looks the same anyway

Progress is bering done, all sails on the main mast are now rigged

All ropes are in and passed through the blocks, 72 still left to be tied to the belay pins

Arround 150 coils to be done, and the anchors to finish it all

When I was doing the math yesterday, for what is left, I realised that after th 72 ropes I would be left with 150 rope coils and nothing else, so I've decided to start tackling a few of those, to avoid having to do them all at the end

So I've tied the last ropes that were left on the pins arround the main mast and did a few coils

66 ropes and 128 coils left

Hi Shelk, I have a kit that supplied walnut for the decking, I don’t think that it will look right and I want to lighten it. I’m thinking that bleaching it might do the trick. I see that you bleach some of your wood and I wonder if there is a technique that I should use. Thanks

No special technique, i just dipped the wood in bleach and let it sit there

I've bleached some walnut, it also bleached, no real issue

Now keep in mind, it's superficial, when you sand it, if it is a lot of sanding it will start showing the normal colour underneeth

As with everything, test it on a sample, and see if it fits what you are looking for

@Ken Forgot to mention, if it's very thin wood, be carefull and keep an eye, leaving it too long can start to damage the edges

Foremast fully riggedIMG_20210121_233454.jpgIMG_20210121_213047.jpg

This basically means rigging is done
Missing 40 something coils, reattach the main backstays that I removed for better access, the 4 anchors, darken the ropes with brown wash, go over bright spots from the CA glue and the display case

Very battle weary looking new ship.;)
Will you be showing us how you build the display case (videos)?
What will your next project be?

Yes I will try to film how I do the case

Next project is the santisima Trinidad cross section

There is something else I'm starting to prepare that I'm not ready to talk about just yet, hopefully it will start while I'm doing the cross section
