This is a new log. I will be posting more in a bit.
Based on Drawings by Elsinor, and Drawings by L B Jenson, copy 337 full D sized and scaled prints.
There is one other log here by @bikepunk https://shipsofscale.com/sosforums/...s-by-p-f-eisnor-practium-by-gene-bodnar.2808/
which has seemed to become defunct.

My goal is to create a model using Bodnar's practicum and other references on the internet
Please note that Model Ship Builder (still exists but all log data gone) https://www.modelshipbuilder.com/ was the original source to obtain Elsinor drawings. But to date. After multiple tries to contact Winston, i have been unsucessful.
I will be also using this web site for reference as well https://www.van-vliet.org/dempseywoodworking/bluenose.shtml

I will start posting very soon.
Some pictures to look at:

I also have a copy of the practicum that I can provide..but I need to get permission from Winston at https://www.modelshipbuilder.com/ first. To date: no contact I will keep trying.

Best regards
Guy

Nice to see the start of your build-log for the Bluenose in scale 1:48, Guy. I will follow it with interest and will ad it in a new up-date soon of the BN-list.
Regards, Peter

Peter thanks... but.. I have come across problems with the elsinor drawings in that horizontally they are out by ~2ft (1/2" to scale). Vertically there are problems too.
This bugs me to no end. In order to fix this I have to redraft the drawings. I dont know that I am up to that. I "would" like the model to be as accurate as possible.
So.. I dont know that I would add it to the log quite yet. the other person had the same issues (Link in my original post).
No decision yet...

Well,
I will have 2 builds going.. one slower (This one) one faster (POF YuanQUING) https://shipsofscale.com/sosforums/threads/bluenose-i-1929-yuanquin-1-72-finglas-in-progress.19775/
I have decided NOT to re-draft for the 2 foot error in LOA for the prints from Elsinor. The Beam is within a 1/8 foot (26.75) or so..
No one will know the difference but me and this is well within the tollerances of that day.
I will be manually drawing the frames (all 50+ of em)... using bodnar..

I am yr hmble servant

Ken, I just received a note from Winston of MSB stating that he will be shutting down that site due to health issues.
Elsinor plans will no longer be available through him and the Elsinor family will most likely stop selling these. I do have Bodnar's (Gene's) practicum. Thanks for the note Ken.

I have been trying for two month now and not getting any reply either. Does any one know where else I can purchase the 1/4 scale plans.

Darrel,
Per my note above Winston is not selling these anymore nor the Elsinor family.
I had the drawings copied and digitized for my personal use. But I cant share these without permission... alas.
What a shame these have gone the way of the dodo.
You can however get copies of the Bluenose II drawings and build that.. There are other copies floating around the internet too. https://www.amazon.com/dp/1551090635?lv=shuf&channelId=500&plpRedirect=mhFallback
Could blow up these drawings to 1:48 and build from the lines there..

Not much help I know...
