After a long time waiting for a friend to print me a steam engine for the middle section I took the decision to go to a printing hub
And this is the engine printed in resin

Very beautiful engine Daniel! Is it one piece or rotating?

I like the idea to install the steam engine on the same axle as electric motor which actually powers the propeller. When electric motor is hidden under ship constructions, it looks like the steam engine actually rotates the propeller.

Today I was working a bit at middle part of the ship : I did a paper cover for my fake engine for better understanding the space
After that I painted the resin engine

First try was a little crooked but after gluing I will get to fit and make some remedial filing

The regular give me a clogged nose for several days

Finnaly the ca has arrived and got a little time to do some hobby
I have reach the decision to scrap the front deck , the paper caulking was not a very good idea
I watched the great video jurnal of leo and tally ho

So I redesigned the planking of the deck and simplified the image
Tabula rasa!

After a lot of dry fitting, sanding and using
a sharp chisel I had a small success

I just started to use a large chisel as a scrapping blade and treated the left part of the deck
The caulking is looking realistic but have still a lot of work to do

The deck is looking good! I may have missed this somewhere, but is the glue black, which then shows up as caulking? I'm just planning the deck on my Maldon smack so I'm keen to know what you have done.

Hello Colin ,
I used a faber castell permanent marker on the edges befor glueing
I was a little scared to see if will go beyond the effect intended but till now is good
