Steam pinnace Janet

Hello All,
Today is a big day
I will sand the resin with 400 grit and after will prime the hull with a auto spray primer
if all go well I will paint the hull white and red the portion underwater.
I did the masking of the deck and first cabin and will go to sanding/priming in a hour
kind regards,Daniel

First round of sanding with 180 , 240 and 400 grit
I have a question , what is best , to get a epoxy layer on the wooden part of bow and after that to put the filler and paint
or to put the filler, paint and get a layer of epoxy on after
Any help appreciated
Daniel

Hello Again
After a bit of pondering on the subject I made my mind and taken a third way : I will put the deck on the model and after the strip under the deck and epoxy a layer or two and after will be the primer and paining
This way all that have to be protected will be, and the gap between paint and epoxy will not show

Hello all ,
Today update
After some sanding and 2 coats o epoxy the model look so and so
For primer I will wet sand the hull and see where it go
I used a foam roller for the epoxy and the layer is not very straight have little waves . because I made a lot of epoxy I put one layer on the deck and on the fist cabin ( helps with wet sanding ) not very proud of the result but will sand and do another in due time.
kind regards, Daniel

Last update this evening
The filler is dry, still a little smelly, have to remedy 2 spots and is good for sanding .
I glued the canopy for the forward cabin where the steam exhaust is hiding a fan for air intake ( esc is cooling with air)
The sanding of the hull will be tomorrow afternoon if all go as plan
Kind regards, Daniel

Hello All ,
I just finished the white hornbeam strips and have to find a way to buy more.
The roof is ok with the vents on the pear strips .
I ordered a propeller with a smaller diameter, the one I have is prone to cavitation after seen the water line on the model.
This is how it look now

A bit late coming to this party, but if you are worried about hot weather causing the epoxy to cure too fast there are two things that help. Cool the resins overnight in a refrigerator is the first thing - the second is to reduce the amount of hardener/activator.

The only problem I have seen by chilling the resin btw was when atmospheric humidity is very high condensation can form a faint misty bloom on the surface. Possibly a minor problem with colour top-coats, but not with basecoats
