The Arizona 1/200. Trumpeter.

Hello friends,
Been busy at my workbench this weekend. I primed and top coated the hull with anti fouling red and upper hull above waterline in Haze grey. In addition, my timber deck arrived from China, and I applied a coat of Testers dull coat clear varnish to the sheet. After the varnish dried I peeled off the backing and applied the deck. I read somewhere that the deck can lift up around the edges, so I liberally applied superglue gel to the plastic surfaces before applying it. Seems to work well.

Looking at applying additional details to the hull { degaussing lines and avgas line. }. Been researching some info supplied by David and Steve.

i hate to be the bearer of bad news but those rows of dots on the main & upper decks are not supposed to be there. it appears the deck manufacturer used gaming files off world of warships or similar as some 3d printing companies use the same files to print their 3d warships. look at these pictures that i had circled those dots. look at Arizona's Booklet of General Plans 1941 Sheet 7 - Upper Deck & Sheet 8 - Main Deck as you will not see those dots.

On the 'dots', they exist on pretty much all the wooden deck kits. I found some research ( and a photo which I'm trying to find) that indicates they were actually lights in the deck. I believe by 1941 they had been removed.

do not think that the lights would be on the bolt plates on the main deck as shown on sheet 8. the bolt plates should be outlined with wood but covered with wood so no exposed metal that some model kits get wrong like Revell's 1/429 scale model of the Arizona & others.

what are those 10 ribbed vertical tubes in middle picture leftside for?

is your gray stack leaning back as it should be vertical, no lean?
the enclosed section on the top of the machine gun platform on either side of the stack is the wrong shape. look at Sheet 3 - Outboard Profile & Sheet 5 - Bridges Platforms & Fire Control Tops of the plans. trumpeter is more correct in that area.
