Yeah, that's what I tried. Maybe I need a bigger bit. I'll try it with one. Can't hurt, unless I drill through the wood and into mu knee.
I hope it works out for you. Possibly a key to the technique is using a sharp knife blade with a good point on it.I tried the bigger bit and it worked okay. Now I’m cutting the tops and bottom of the bulwarks, and they’re going cross grain. Getting some breakage. No easy way of doing this.
