Take a closer look at my more recent posts. I switched from Proxxon DB250 to the 17" metric version of the Sherline lathe. I caught it on sale and wish I'd invested in that instead of the Proxxon DB 250. If I weren't already giving the Proxxon lathe away to a friend just starting out (and on a very limited budget), I'd offer you mine. You still have to accessorize the stock Proxxon and you won't truly be satisfied with it. If XKen thought the Sherline was the lathe to have, that's good enough for me..Your work convinced me to pull the trigger on the Proxxon DB250.
For the hull planking, lined out the belts, calculated the number of planks needed, used proportional dividers to mark the width on the plank at each bulkhead.

These are going to be some expensive sparsnow looking at a Sherline package Mill and Lathe. Instead of Sherline lathe and Proxxon mill.
.Want to make a significant dent in the stash. These are going to be some expensive spars.
The only difference between men and boys is the price of their toys. Been there. Done that.
