I worked at several different areas on the New York over the past week or so. Here are some photos of it. The pulley's on the cat head are the only ones I actually make. Also the 32 pounder bow chasers.
I have just finished putting copper "plates" on one side of the hull on my latest ship model, the New York. 60 hours over 14 days to do this about 1500 individual pieces. Now, on to the other side! Groan!
Hello, thrrebs, I really like your furniture, it is made accurately. One observation, however, if you don't mind, the belaying pins handles are a bit oversized. You may shape them a bit using the rotary tool and needle files.
Once the lines are tied off to the pins and rope coils are hung from them you will not see much if anything of the pins. Only the poop deck pin rails will have any bare pins, and those I will, as you suggest trim down.
The New York's barge/whale boat is pretty much done.. Needs some final touches to clean up fuzz and paint job. I was busy the past week making an in depth video series on making a ship's boat. It is in 9 parts! About half are 10 minutes or so long, but several run 15 to 25 minutes. I have them on U tube. My channel is @gregbaumgartner8257
