Many Thanks - these from Knupfer are very good
Expensive when you need a lot, but gooooood
Just calculated the 6.000 Fred mentioned -> only 930 Euros ....... we have definitely to contact the manufacturer who is delivering Knupfer

Hello Uwe,

it can also be cheaper. I used brass nails with a diameter of 0.6 mm. I bought these here (https://drydockmodelsandparts.com/collections/brass-accessories/products/tiny-nails-0-7mm-200-bag)
These were still cheaper than the rivets from Knupfer, despite customs duties etc.
The annoying thing is the burnishing. It just takes time until you have finished all the nails.

Yes - I use these for my bolts on hinges etc.
the heads are different to the Knupfer "bolts" which are have round
 
Hello everyone,

I admit that I've been avoiding it a bit, but there were no more excuses. The gallery had to be assembled. It was a bit difficult to glue the metal parts together as it took some sanding and finishing until everything fitted together properly. I reinforced the whole thing with wooden mouldings on the inside. Unfortunately there are no pictures of this.
I think it turned out reasonably well.

Hello everyone,

The next difficult decision had to be made. Should I ‘nail’ the hull or not? I delayed the decision for as long as possible until my fair admiralty said, ‘Why not? Why don't you try it’. I started thinking about 0.3 mm nails, 0.5 mm nails and 0.7 mm brass dowels and came to the decision to use all these sizes and to simulate the wooden dowels with 0.25 mm drill holes. These will be filled during priming and varnishing. The nails under the last Barkwood are 0.5 mm holes filled with black furniture wax. The wear on the burnishing agent and small drill bits was limited. Afterwards I had to admit that my wife was somehow right. It somehow looks great and comes close enough to the original for me.I hope you like it as much as I do
