I have started to many build logs in the past and not finished the model. That is the reason why I did not start a log for my current project. I am afraid that this will happen again. I don't know when it is for me the best time to start a log, but in the moment I feel that it is much to early for a new one.

For us it is important, that we share knowledge and get information to see how and what others are building. Every single post can be helpful for one or another modeler in our community. And it is not important, that at the end there is a completed build. It is a nice to have, but not most important.

My current project is the Golden Rule, a 30-foot Angelman ketch that sailed from Hawaii in 1958 to protest the Marshall Islands atomic bomb tests. I obtained a copy of the original Angelman plans and am building the model according, but am incorporating details, paint schemes, and sail designs from the new version that was restored in 2015. It is being used by the Veterans for Peace organization as a floating ambassador for their anti-war and anti-nuclear message, and recently completed the “great loop” voyage down the Mississippi (starting at Minneapolis), around Florida, up the East coast as far as Maine (where I saw her in person), up the Hudson River, through the Erie Canal to the Great Lakes, and ending at Chicago. Attached are photos of the boat itself and my 1/32 scale model in its current state. The Golden Rule website is: https://vfpgoldenruleproject.org/

Thanks, @Polo . I am going to redo the klinker planking of the upper part of the hull, because the run should be parallel to the railings above. @Ab Hoving was kind enough to notice and help guide me before I kept going. So, I am going to start working on that just as soon as life allows time to continue the build.

почти готовая сборка Corel's King of Prussia по планам. просто нужно закончить задние стойки, повесить флаг и подвеску, сделать несколько мотков веревки и несколько небольших подправок на отделке. Я фрезеровал обшивку из ели, но не рекомендую это делать, так как текстура может быть немного грубой и плохо гнётся (хотя на самом деле кромка гнется довольно легко, подумайте), и заказала блоки и такелаж по мере необходимости. . все остальное сделал на своем мини-настолке пилой и защелкой, включая анкеры. Я почти чувствую извинение, размещая свои фотографии среди таких великолепных деревянных моделей. Я пробовал деревянные модели, но не могу поддерживать интерес в течение нескольких месяцев, необходимых для проекта!

Море — это глина DAS, наносимая тонкими слоями (между нанесениями дайте высохнуть в течение дня или около того), чтобы минимизировать растрескивание, затем запечатывается разбавленным ПВА и окрашивается — я использую исключительно акрил, аэрограф для грунтовок и базовых покрытий, ворсистую палочку для всего остального. .
В настоящее время я работаю над Mirage 1/350 HMS Spiraea, но на данный момент работа застопорилась...........

Сложнее всего разобраться: эти субмарины находились в воде очень низко, и кажется почти кощунством отрезать 75% корпуса, чтобы довести его до уровня «ватерлинии», а он все еще плывет слишком высоко! Фигурки представляют собой 1/144 (1/150) железнодорожных пассажиров с куском пластикового стержня на голове в качестве кепки и соответствующим образом раскрашенными. У этих штук был экипаж из 8 человек, поэтому большинство находится на корпусе (свежий воздух!).
Оригинальная Holland I была построена в 1901 году и стала первой подводной лодкой Королевского флота. Он погиб в 1913 году, когда его отбуксировали на металлолом. Она была обнаружена и спасена в 1982 году и сейчас выставлена в Музее подводных лодок RN в Госпорте, Хэмпшир, Великобритания.

Мой первый проект — Спасение HMS Victory.

Это моя первая сборка корабля, комплект Revell Victory, который я собрал без каких-либо серьезных размышлений или предварительного опыта. Пластиковые паруса сломались и теперь бесполезны. Я стремлюсь искупить свою вину, выполняя достойную парную работу. Сегодня сделал грунтовку, пара кусочков отвалилась! Я собираюсь начать методично рисовать ее на следующей неделе. Что касается такелажа, то он меня пугает!

Привет! Нет смысла чего-либо бояться! Такелаж или паруса, пластиковая замазка. Никто не будет вас судить. Они могут вас поправить или дать совет. Вы можете и должны ошибаться. Ваш корабль выглядит очень хорошо, но предстоит еще многое сделать. Сформулированы пожелания! Егор!

And in not a single case did I see anyone from the SOS site say that “this is stupid” or “why are you doing this”... I just don’t know of such examples. Here they can support, give advice on how... This is my first post here in SoS. I am currently working on my first scratch build project - Golden Hind. I am using Aeropiccola plans as basis but making quite a few alterations and deviations - consulting other plans as well as other build logs etc. The below are couple of pictures that would give some idea on my journey during the past year.

I sold the Adolph Bermpohl and the Vegesack again. I have so many other projects and since I have no real personal connection to Bermpohl, I decided to sell them. Bought for 40 euros, sold again for 250 euros.

This is my first large project: the HMS Revenge. I could not bring myself to cover the wood... either with paint or paper decals. I took the liberty to improvise with wood only... mostly walnut strips, walnut/maple and feathered walnut inlays.
