HMS Blandford POF by Keith [COMPLETED BUILD]

For those who wanted to know the stuff l will use to finish the wood on this kit. It does not add colour, just brings out the natural beauty of the pearwood. One coat is dead flat, 2 coats gives a very pleasing slight sheen.

This turned out to be a nice opaque color.
I also see the product here in the hardware stores, special choice that works out very well, the dark color is appropriate for the time period of the ship
I find it very difficult to find a suitable color for wood, especially if there is soot must be removed, you will soon get that it will become "spotty",

Thank you Henk. l think it looks great too. There is still a lot to do, so it will be a little while yet until l get around to using it.

Feeling a bit pleased with myself this afternoon as l have reached the first milestone with this 1:48 scale HMS Blandford kit, the completion of the hull frames. Once l have checked the height of the ribs against the drawing and trimmed where necessary, the next job will to insert spacer pieces between all the ribs which will bring them into line and strengthen the hull. l am pleased with result so far and also a little sad, as l've really enjoyed this stage of the build but can also look forward to the next major step, that of working on the interior deck support timbers. But that's a long way into the future
