You’re fortunate to have him for a few days. Dogs can be great companions (Sorry Anna)His name is "Lucky", and he belongs to one of my colleagues at school.
A monumental struggle on your part but a tremendous result. Nicely done.Enough is enough ...

Single-Layer Oak.
Ron, fully agreed. I grew up with dogs and had never been without either a cat or dog/s or both in my adult life. Now that i am in China it is the first time that I am without any animal. Matt (my colleague) and I rescued this little one as a puppy from a busy street. He was clearly abandoned, mangy and starving. Matt took him in and I have been his godfather ever since. You’re fortunate to have him for a few days. Dogs can be great companions (Sorry Anna)
Just don’t get too attached……
Thank you very much my friend. I am hugely relieved that 50% of the ordeal is behind me.A monumental struggle on your part but a tremendous result. Nicely done.
His name is "Lucky"
Thank you very much Paul. Yes - the other side looms, but that is tomorrow's worries.Lovely work Heinrich and a significant accomplishment. Congratulations for now, and it's on to the other side...
Peter, I can assure you that HE is the Lucky one - with me he will be spoilt rotten. I have already bought him his special food bowl on a little stand so that he doesn't have to bend too far down, I have bought him imported food from New Zealand (grain free), dried chicken neck snacks and two toys. We have just returned from our nocturnal walk so now the fella is lying next to me huffing and puffing! You may concider yourself Lucky to have for a fewdays.
Man's best friend afterall.![]()

Thank you so much Peter. Coming from someone with such an excellent detail for lines and detail and with your amount of artistic flair, I really appreciate the comment. That is what I called a very nice single layed well lined solid oak planked hull. Thank you, Paul. I wholeheartedly agree - the finish that Ab manages to obtain on his models is in another league. So, one vote to use the Harpuis as is.Well I'm no expert painter, nor am I an expert on what this white/yellow coating would have looked like in real life - but I can share that I rather like the partial coverage in your sample. It has an authenticity feel to it that a solid white might lack???
Can anything look better than this from Ab?

Heinrich, i like this color as wel, it looks rather livelyAnd here is the same piece of wood, but with two coats of the Harpuis paint applied.
Thank you, Hans - I thought I shook it well, but it obviously wants more! Please do shake the bottles very well. It should give a real good covering - even with one layer.
Thank you, my friend. It would be wonderful to paint the ship in the real thing!Heinrich, i like this color as wel, it looks rather lively![]()
