I put a cap on the ends of the deck planks and filled in the gaps on the sides with leftover sticks. I hope I have enough! If not, I’ll make some more out of other leftovers.

Thanks for the “likes,” guys! This is quite a bit different from a PoF build. There’s a steep learning curve, but it’s nice to be challenged in new ways.
By the way, I just communicated with Scott Miller, the guy who makes the kits. He’s a nice guy and very helpful. I found out that the directions I received with the kit weren’t up to date. If you’re considering doing this build, be sure to download the directions online. I think they’re available on the website.
Here’s the cutwater roughed out. Now if I can just figure out a way to cut it down to size. 
I made a well for the mast using my razor saw and miter box. I’ll try to cut a hole to fit in the decking. 
Cutwater is added along with false keel. 
Mast placement is set. The box well is inserted. Now to determine placement of seats. 
The first seat is done. It was a bit of a challenge fitting it around the ribs. 
Both seats are done. How many people could use the Galilee boat? One archeologist said, “ Thirteen: twelve inside and one walking along outside.”
I’m putting horizontal pieces between the tops of the partial frames. They provide extra gluing surface for the cap rail and I think they give the boat a more finished look. 
The cap rails were bent too much. I put them in water to help me bend them back. Then they broke. One of them broke before I even touched it. 
Cap rail is on and Zinsser amber shellac is on. 
I built a cleat from scrap. Not perfectly symmetrical, but the original probably wasn’t either. 
I am quietly (for the most part) watching your build log and really happy with how the model progresses. Very accurate and clean. I like the cleat - it is scratch-built, and sounds! Good job, Vic! 
Thanks, Jim. Lots of new stuff for me. I’ve tried making cleats on other models, but they were too small. This one looks a lot like those that I’ve encountered. I appreciate the encouragement.
