YUANQING BLUENOSE - Peter Voogt [COMPLETED BUILD]

C’mon - it’s just a tissue!
Or…what is this? I wouldn’t wipe my bum with this! ROTF
Honestly, Dean? TMI! ROTF
What you are afraid for the tiny hooks? :)
This is going from bad to worse...
Just poking fun at the tissue paper.
I didn’t I know I had initiated such a groundbreaking change ………… ;)
Regards, Peter

The jib is also furled on the bowsprit:

A: the sheet of the jib. The fixed end is attached with a hook to an eye. The running end through an eyelet on the deck to the front belaying pin. The two pendants are not that long and are now free on both sides. When hoisting, one will lie over the stays of the jumbo jib. Depending on which side he is healed.
B: The fixed end of the sheet of the balloon jib is hooked in one eye behind the main shrouds. The pendant run outside around the fore shrouds. The tackle of the sheet inside at the main shrouds.
C: both downhauls via a eyepin on the bow to the 2 belaying pins behind it.
It's pretty busy on the foredeck. But the professional crew knows exactly what needs to be done and what to take into account when hoisting the jib and the balloon boom.

The two sails more in detail:

The balloon jib is furled up on the starboard side. The port pendant runs aft over the jib stay. To be able to turn to port when hoisting or sailing if the wind requires it.

The overall picture on the port side with the painted hull:

A little overexposed light at the rear. Better pictures later.

The total picture on the starboard side with the open hull:

For myself, I am convinced that I did the right thing by furling the jib and balloon jib on the bowsprit.

Now to bring some nice little things, such as rope hangs, the ship's bell, dorie hooks etc etc.
Still some time to go until my BN is finished.
Regards, Peter

Good morning Peter. Great banter - I don’t know how you managed to start this but made me laugh. As for your BN, it is just WOW! Certainly one of a kind and so correct in the detail and execution. Respect! Cheers Grant
