Le Saint Philippe 1693 after Jean-Claude Lemineur (Ancre) in scale 1:48

With all the filler blocks in place it was necessary to re-fair the hull (adding enormously to my level of dissatisfaction with this current operation):

With that done, I could complete the layout of the gun ports and a few lights:

On the Kingfisher I really struggled creating accurate gun ports. I hope to improve upon that earlier effort this time around.

I would love to report on the magnificent progress I have made since my last posting - but mostly I have been installing 'fillers' that are a necessary addition to the framing to accommodate the gun ports. While necessary, I have found this phase of the build to the remarkably unsatisfying.

I have also roughed in the helm port and fillers associated with this portion of the framing:

This last bit will require some additional fine tuning (fairing / sanding) but that will need to wait for the fabrication of the rudder...
Magnificent Paul. I am also busy with my stern counters etc so while there are some changes this tells me a lot ..... thanks. Just WOW work tho. Cheers Grant

Thanks for the WOWs Grant! There is a certain 'plodding along' feel to this build that I can't quite explain apart from the fact that everything seems to take longer to do than I think it will... Very satisfying when it comes together however!
