The ink passed the smudge test perfectly.

Between deck bulkheads 7-10 are perfectly level, however #11 is lower.
I don't know if this is a problem.

The only significant project I have completed was the Bluenose also from ZHL.

The Bluenose was from YuanQing. And when I see the cover of the box in your post #1 this one is also from YuanQing. I suppose you bought it via ZHL?

I've been trying to get what appears to be correct alignment on the three deck platforms at the stern for a few hours. I can't get them all aligned due to interference with the dummy cannon blocks. I've decided to abandon the cannons at the stern and build closed cannon ports.

HAHAHA.... Pass the ink, it will soak in the wood and use a piece of cotton fabric to clean the excess. Job is looking very well.

BTW, when you use the black ink for imitating ebony, the positive side is that it enter the wood more deeply than paint. If you then scratch that piece of wood, the scratch will not be noticeable as if you scratch a painted wood.

Check the plans and drawings. Could it be that the deck is lower on that section ?

That's as life as it can go.

Glued frame 12 in place.
Install four parts 16 and platform 51 in place to locate we them. I'll glue part 51 when they are dry.
Btw, I reinstalled the aft dummy cannon blocks lower than where they were.
It's a crapshoot if they will work. Yo 11.

Thank you again for this kit. I'm having a great time building it. You should reconsider and get you one again.

Installed the third level deck at the stern.
The instructions call for the installation of part 48 on the keel. See attached figure 15a. I don't see the part in the figure or any subsequent photos.

Here we go again.
The next step is to install part 20.
The part is longer than shown in figures 19 and 20.
Further figure 21 seems to show the part as supplied as shown in my first photo.
Based on the last photo I'm going to cut the part shorter assuming it will be easier to glue in a block to extend the part rather than trying to shorten it with a chisel at a.later step.
