Ted, did you just reshape the support piece or make a new one from scrape wood?

The Bluenose was from YuanQing. And when I see the cover of the box in your post #1 this one is also from YuanQing. I suppose you bought it via ZHL?The only significant project I have completed was the Bluenose also from ZHL.

Yes it was Yuanquing. Senior momentThe Bluenose was from YuanQing. And when I see the cover of the box in your post #1 this one is also from YuanQing. I suppose you bought it via ZHL?
But so far a interesting build, Ted.

HAHAHA.... Pass the ink, it will soak in the wood and use a piece of cotton fabric to clean the excess. Job is looking very well.By the way, using ink vs paint could leave your fingers stained.lolView attachment 553356

Check the plans and drawings. Could it be that the deck is lower on that section ?Between deck bulkheads 7-10 are perfectly level, however #11 is lower.
I don't know if this is a problem.View attachment 553357View attachment 553358

Thank you again for this kit. I'm having a great time building it. You should reconsider and get you one again.BTW, when you use the black ink for imitating ebony, the positive side is that it enter the wood more deeply than paint. If you then scratch that piece of wood, the scratch will not be noticeable as if you scratch a painted wood.
Cheers !!!
Daniel
