Good job, Jack. I hate to say it, but the deadeyes are upside down. I hope you can still turn them.Port side mizen channel and chainplates. I think my soldering is improving a little. I wasn't cleaning the surfaces enough and not putting enough flux.

Thank youNicely done, Cap'n Sparrow.

thank you.Looking good Jack.

Way to go Jack.well starboard side mizzen and main mast chainlates are done. Using sandpaper to clean the surfaces then adding a lot of flux seems to be the solution. Oh and I keep my iron at 500 C. It works like a charm

I will see. It depends on what it looks like and if I have the patience for it and if I am physically able to work at that small scale. I think I will have to ream the holes in the blocks in order to fit the rigging rope through them. I have about 150 of each single and double blocks so it would appear that these will be used a lot in the model so I better figure it out.I am in the midst of rigging my 20 carronades and 2 long guns. 8 carronades (6 aft & 2 forward) have 5 tackles each (2 for sideways adjustment, 2 to move the sled, and 1 to pull back the whole gun); the midship carronades have only 4 tackles due to the spar deck cut away; and the long guns have only 3 tackles, That's 94 sets of tackles I am still fabricating. And, each tackle has a 2 hooks, 3 mm single block and 3 mm double block. The tackle rope line is 0.008" (0.20 mm) dia and the recoil rope is 0.30" (0.78 mm) dia. The seizing line used to tie the hooks and blocks to the tackle rope is 3/0 nylon. That's a lot of stuff and a lot of work. Then of course all of this has to be installed onto the model. It will be a while before I complete this task. It's a pain in the butt, but I'm a tenacious bastard, and it will be completed.
I hope you are up to it, because it's a long haul. Good luck!
Jon
I’d love to see them fully rigged, but do what you think best.I will see. It depends on what it looks like and if I have the patience for it and if I am physically able to work at that small scale. Thanks.
I feel the pain and have gotten only 5 of the 20 carronades rigged. They're super tiny and Ive had to make the holes slightly bigger because I bought better thread/lines that did not fray like the one's original to the kit. Between my government contracts it's been super slow, but I'm hoping to pick it up so I can actually get to the ship's rigging and mast. But, I'm still alive and waiting for my new contract otherwise, I'm Ubering my butt off, lol.I will see. Its taking me forever and doesn't look anywhere as nice as Jon's or th other folks that have several of these unde their belts. Its funny that eve though mine look messy, after a few weeks and not working directly on them, it doesn't look so bad...it looks like deck hands were all over them and not wrapped up perfectly, but still in some kind of order. I am old and slow and perhaps my eyes deceive me, lol. They always say we are our own worst enemy.Well, I am in the process of trying to figure out if I should fully rig the carronades on the ship. I will definitely install the breech lines but I am not certain if I will put the remaining tackle on. The blocks I need are about 3 mm in size. There are 20 carronades to rig. In the past all I did was install the breech lines, but for this one I think I may fully rig them. Anyways, I'll try a couple to see how it looks and go from there.
I'll post some pics once I have finished installing the carronades. There really is nothing new to show at this time.
