Today it was time to cutout some planks of the ‘imitation’ barrel-holds. Yes, on the 1:1 …

One plank had a crack and a seam had come apart. Result: water damage. 3 planks were removed. It turned out that one of them had also been laid without proper adhesion in the sealant/Sikaflex. We can still use 2, and 1 new one is being cut.
A lot of work is to be done on this old lady. But we keep her sailing with love and pleasure.

Yes, Paul. But a clever one .. took a blanket out the forecastle to put under my old knees …..:) An old ‘trick’ from years ago when I was ‘dressing’ the windmill stones in the windmill that I operated.
I will look if I can find a pictures of that. Not many has the feeling for that old fashion ‘hammer’ work. It’s called ‘billen’. Yes, like on your back above your legs …….;)

At least you can use the big-boys tools on the 1:1, I am sure that is much easier than tying ratlines with micro tweezers!
