I only left without sanding the planks because I like that soft burnt from the laser. Looks like a deck with use and not so elegant as other parts of the ship.

Next step will be Parquet Floor in the Great Cabin.
For this task, Mike Shanks developed a template that is a 1/64" piece of aircraft grade baltic birch laser cut with the flooring pattern etched onto the surface. The floor is made off 302 laser cut individual parts from Boxwood, Walnut, Cherry, Pear, and Holly that will be assembled like a puzzle to make up the deck.
The pictures shows my first test (not glued) and the Floor finished during the kit development. I hope mine finish similar.
Next update will be in a few days when I finish it.

This is an exciting mini project in itself, Daniel. The parquet floor certainly looks beautiful but will obviously require some patience to get the most out of it. I will certainly watch your progress closely.

Kurt, you are correct, the first square was the hardest... BUT !!! the second was too ....and the third.... and..
.they are all hard, at least for me. As Heinrich wrote, this is a project on itself.Heinrich, you are correct. I wasn't expecting this part to be so hard, at least, for me. What you see in the below picture are 5 hours of focused work. Almost every other piece needs to be adjusted, by sanding or cutting. I can't imagine myself doing this from 100% scratch pieces. At least all these parts were already laser cut. Nevertheless they need to be adjusted. The fitting is very tight and precise. For me this first round looks "good enough" to move on to the next row.

Finally, I finished the floor parquet and did the mast hole. For the pictures I cleaned the floor with mineral spirits to bring out the beauty of the woods selected by Mike.
Next steps: install the laser cut beams below the floor and a few more beams not shown on the images. Make all these fit correctly in the stern.
For a flavor of how it will look, I fit the floor in the stern. But still need a lot of work for a perfect fit.
The guy in the picture is 1/24. That provides you a perspective of the HMY Fubbs size.

Now the update:
-The laser cut beams structure below the main cabin floor installed.
-Individual CNC beans under the laser cut beams structure installed. These beans provided a soft curvature to the main cabin floor
-The main cabin floor clamps installed.
-The upper counter planks installed.
-The ceiling planks installed
Concerning the upper counter planks issue that Jodi solved very nicely, it was too late for me to do what he suggested. So I have to sand the knees already assemble. It all turned very nice.

Wit the fixed deck beams with laying knees and after the installation of the complete deck it will be hard to install afterwards the hanging knees (if they are planned)

What you see on the window picture is product of the way I took it. See below. Same window.
Concerning the hanging knees, you are correct, they will be difficult to install, but as you mentioned, it was designed on that way. Only the front 2 hanging knees will be visible.
