First off, which kit and scaleHi, I'm looking at the site you recommended. There are some great products. Can you help me choose? Which blocks and which hooks and eyes should I order? Thanks for your help.
I was wondering what the two eyes are for on the back of the carriage bracket. Thanks

That makes a lot of sense, thanksAllan, these eyes are designed to aim the gun horizontally. Some guns were difficult to aim manually, using special levers, especially when the ship was listing or the sea was rough. Or assistants died in battle.
That's why tackles were used.

Common sense applies, but alas, I sometimes overthink things......these eyes are designed to aim the gun horizontally.

Artesania Latina Scala 1:84First off, which kit and scale

OkArtesania Latina Scala 1:84

Thank youOk
On their main menu click on accessory kits
Scroll down to Hms Victory 1/84-1/87 click on that them choose the items you want
Unfortunately it looks like I got the last set of standing and running blocks for the moment
If you know exactly what you want click on ship accessories from the main menu then click on rigging blocks and choose from the list

The price is listed when you choose the size from the drop down listThank youHow much for each block? Did you get the other rope too? Anyway they told me that the missing production will be available in 15 days. Thanks

Thanks. Is it enough to buy just one block or more? The price is listed when you choose the size from the drop down list
No I didn’t get the rope set I have already upgraded the kit ropes with polyester non fuzz ropes from Ropes of Scale , according to them the AL threads aren’t that accurate in scale size so I’ve got some sorting out to do when it’s time for rigging![]()

Not sure what you mean by “just one block”Thanks. Is it enough to buy just one block or more?

Not sure what you mean by “just one block”
If you mean the block sets then yes, each set has every block needed for the standing or running rigging as listed in John McKay’s 100 Gun Ship Victory, and you can download some plans and a spreadsheet listing all the blocks. their sizes and rope sizes
The running rigging set has over 400 blocks and the standing rigging set has 274
It’s up to you how far you want to take it but as these are walnut blocks they will look different from the kit blocks unless you stain them. Also from what I’ve seen in my block sets, AL doesn’t supply every size , for example. the largest double and treble blocks are 5 and 7mm in the kit, the block sets contain 5,6 and 8mm so I suspect that the kit will need you to double up on the 7mm to represent 6 and 8mm if that makes sense

Glad to be of helpPerfect, then a single set of blocks is enough. Thanks
