BALDER, Vlaardingen Herring Lugger from 1912, scratch build scale 1:50 Plate-On-Frame

The carpenters have been working hard the past few days:
-installed ceiling in the living area;
-finished beams in the stairwell and Donkey area;
-placed stairs;
-made table;
-provided the bunk with a floor and finished the wall;
-placed various skirting boards and moldings:

This gives you a view of the ceiling, the beams, with the table and the stairs.

From a more normal perspective:

As can be seen in the old photo posted earlier, you can walk around the table via the starboard side. On the port side, you slide behind the fixed part via the bench. If necessary, the starboard part can be folded up.
The rear wall can just be seen in the opening of the cage. The mattress has also been placed.

The hinged part can also be folded out:

A slide under the top ensures that the part does not fold back.
The mast foot was also treated. This gives a nice colour accent, together with the table and the stairs.
So, inside almost done ..... :)
Regards, Peter

Beautiful! The thing about this kind of detail is that you get sucked into the model. So much to discover!
Thanks, Marco. I also look back regularly.;) I have also provided the forepeak of the bunk with a mattress. Both stove also need to be made for that room. And of course the Donkey boiler. But I think I will make that in between.

Fantastic details Peter, especially the folding table. Love it.
Thanks, Maarten. My BN has also such a table, but was that foldable …… :rolleyes: That certainly had to be the case with this one.
And have to make another extra hole in my template when she has to lie on her side again. For the remaining hull plates and the construction of the bulwark.
But first I have to plank the deck. To be able to put clamps on both sides around the deck beams.
Again looking ahead to see which steps have to be taken first.
Regards,Peter

Good evening Peter. Wonderful details as always Peter. Cheers Grant

The last hold at the rear also provided with a floor:

Then the construction in this part is technically ready:
0600 25-03-04.jpg

Time for some extra photos.
0601 25-03-04.jpg
The open construction starboard part in place. Put a little more in the daylight with a different color background.
0602 25-03-04.jpg
With a slightly higher position.

With the divided hull, again on the studio table.:

Also with a slightly higher position here too:

I will now first start with the construction of the bulwark on the open starboard part. Then hopefully her complete line will finally come into view.

No words, just...First Place Metal
Ouch...Steph @Steef66 just took my words!!

I'm speechless as I have no words, Peter! I just love your model and the way she is presented.
Thanks, Grant / Paul / Pete / Stephan / Jim. The split allows me to create new creative photos.
And a thank you for all the visitors and the 'likes' during this 1.5 years of building. I had this in mind at the beginning, but that this is now there .......:) For now I can still move forward, many challenges ahead.
Regards, Peter
