Belem from Artesania Latina - by Fish & Chip

Hi everyone and happy new year. I try to return to my benchwork. I received new graphic card, monitor and X-Touch mini and installed software for my new MSFS Simulator setup. So, I loss a lot of time in another hobby than for my ship building.

Here are some pics of the homework concerning the renovation made this automn : 1- Before, then 2- after.

Wonderful renovation Mike

Returning to the hobby time for me. There are pics for final standing rigging.

Symetry was difficult because of the lack of eyelet's position precision. But, the thread quality was really and obstacle for me : not enough surface softness and to high stiffness rending the thread manipulation difficult. In fact, high friction let my loops difficults to form or thight or redo. Threads were in polyester from Caldercraft. USeful for long line, but otherwise not easy at all.

Scaling of the thread is in between the requirement and those of AL stuff. Remembered my surprise when purchased these threads and found they were not in scale compare to there nominal size.

So, I am happy and ready to continue the yard.

Note: remembered that I work from AL kit and AAMM plans.20240621_150808.jpg20240621_150822.jpg20240621_150829.jpg20240621_150743.jpg20240621_150756.jpg

Hi, I made some advances on my sail. More sewing to be done for boltropes, etc. You will find a pics to compare the AL one's with mines. Hope mines are better LOL!. I put also pic for micro gauge. Cheap one's but seem's sharp. I am in reflexion to purchase flexcut straith micro chisels too.
