Good ideas on jigs to hold the aft monkey rails assemblies in place and with the turn down it is nicely done. I was surprised, as not doing the build, that the scuppers change their shape between the forward and aft runs which is a unique YQ presentation of those. You are proceeding to a rewarding finish. I think the instructions leave a lot to be desired when it comes to the masts and rigging...sigh! We all have some homework to do there!
there are some views in the group old resources pages but here are some views that may help:Also note the hawser holes are at an angle and therefore make an elliptical shape opening, not a hole as shown by YQ. I will not use their round insert and make my own elliptical one, after drilling the holes at an angle. They have taken a lot of liberties on this kit, so if you trust them for historical accuracy...not good! I think Peter and Rich are on the right track by using reference material. I am starting to look into all of this as I get closer!
It is strange that YQ has so little in this as there are so many stays, halyards, downhauls, and stays to both the stem cutwater and the hull sides above. . . not to mention the bowsprit foot ropes which vary in number and manner. Those footropes were a major hazard in fishing schooners as they were often not well tended by "fishermen" who were not rigging oriented as Bluewater seamen, and a good number of crew were lost when they broke. Rigging was typically only tended in a rebuild or major repair as the schooner had to return asap to fishing not being tied up at the dock. Rich
Dave, the white line really makes a difference! I had planned to include that myself. Then I thought about using red wood dye for the lower hull. Then water based paint. Now I’m thinking of doing something totally different! Lol... I’m not sure until it’s done at this point. But I want to do my own artistic version and call it the 100th anniversary addition...lol. So I’m brainstorming now. Anyway, I think you’ve done a great job so far and she’s looking very nice! Keep up the good work!

Just a reaction to the width of the white waterline which was and is in BNII 3 inches wide so in this scale it would be quite a bit more narrow unless you want to present it as you have. Every personal YQ schooner is their own and artistic license will be used which will have different effects. Just a thought for a nicely progressing build. Rich
