Bluenose Schooner 1921 - Model Shipways 1:64 by TexBilly

My experience with small areas of my stripe "lifting" has made me proceed as conservatively as possible to minimize the risk of lifting the stripe once I remove my 2mm tape after spraying black. Cautious

I brushed on a very thin coat of 1:1 Mr. Color GX100: Leveling Thinner and let it overlap the stripe a bit to help seal the edges. As expected, this first coat "found" a couple of weakly bonded areas which first produced tiny bubbles, then quickly flattened as the mixture first softened the acrylic then cured. The GX100 will also be my final clear coat so I've now applied two coats and everything is laying flat. Once dry, the overlapped areas leveled nicely so my sprayed final clear coat will tie everything together. Now I'll wait a couple days to make sure everything is fully cured before (nervously) applying tape! :p
