Paul...thats becuase I move to fast, I need to slow down and do better workmanship, like yours! You're a very efficient builder, Paul. You started four months after me and you're now four months ahead of me. What lovely lines on this ship, and you are doing such a nice job on her!
I think your workmanship is excellent. This thing is going to SHINE once you do some fairing!Paul...thats becuase I move to fast, I need to slow down and do better workmanship, like yours!
The internal structure has shipped from CAF yesterday....cant wit to see the components!very good work - I am falling in love with the ship (and kit)
Kurt, great idea! thanks! Caf included Brass strips to make the rings, they can be a little difficult to work withThin black graphic marking tape works in these scales for metal banding, and is easier to work with.
It is working very good with the brass strips from CAF - due to their form they will fit very good - after soldering the ends together and blackaning you can easily push them over the barrelsKurt, great idea! thanks! Yes, have been impressed with Both kits....the HMS Enterprise, and the La Renommee. Tom at CAF follows up very well.Good to see that they provide the bands as well as barrel parts. Great manufacture CAF has become.
Bill, you will be pleased with the overall quality of the kit, and Tom at CAF is very responsive on questions, parts, etc.Tom, I'm jumping on board! This kit from CAF is on my short. (And Admiral approved!)
That makes the kit even more attractive when Q/A are available, especially on your first POF! ( Sorry for addressing "Tom", thank for being so gracious.Bill, you will be pleased with the overall quality of the kit, and Tom at CAF is very responsive on questions, parts, etc.
Good morning Paul. Wow. A lot of work and looking stunning. Must have been a celebration to finish off the frames. Cheers GrantDecided to begin the majority of beveling and sanding of the exterior/interior frames, rather than adding the stern structure. Remembering how many times I broke the fragile stern structure on the HMS Enterprise, i figured I should get the sanding completed first. Started on the port side exterior today, still lots of fine tuning sanding to do.
