CAF Models La Salamandre...1:48 My Attempt

That's the problem with BigMike's builds. He whets the appetite for everything he does! ;) I am also getting more and more intrigued by POF. problem is just that there aren't that many kits around (other than the usual suspects) and I'm not yet ready for a scratch-build.

Well here is what’s been going on in the shop this week. I finally found that elusive last frame after 2 months. I sanded the inside of the hull to about 90% done. Installing 3 frames at a time and the fairing them close to the line worked well. The keelson fit in the notches with a little adjusting. There are a few frames on the outside of the hull that need some attention but final fairing should take care of that.

Next it was on to the stern. Glued up the 7 timbers and cut the opening for the stern post and the helm port.
Quarter timbers roughed out and will be shaped during fairing.

Hope to get model out of building jig and start on the hawse pieces.
