Don Farr's Blandford Cross Section Build

THANKS EVERYONE, yes Mike I know what you are talking about, ALL MY FAMILY, and friends, look and gaze in WONDER, while I think it has to many mistakes to be acceptable, but they think it is super, YES AND I KNOW WHERE THE MISTAKES ARE, but the best is learning, learning, and more learning, as long as I am getting better with each build and as with the BLANFORD with each new step I am WELL SATISFIED, and the help here on SOS is the main reason for improvment. Don

More pictures, going very slow right now trying to make this as good as i can,,, first can anyone tell me if this is BOXWOOD that i am using for the bottom rail, also dry fitting the gun port liner sills 1/8 inch scrap material dry fit will be using bloodwood for the liners, is the 1/8 to thick,,,showing my procedure with the rail stanchions (OUT OF PEAR) the top rail will be out of ROSEWOOD) still concerned about the height, how i am doing this installation is time consuming but after many tries it is the best way to insure everything is right, i am maing a small notch in the rails and pinning it to the rails, to insure that the holes line up on the 2 rails i am rubber cementing them together a drilling through both then pinning the stanchions to the rails, also showing how the final bottom rail will be installed waiting for my prfile shaper to come in so i can make the extenal groove in the bottom ral before cutting 20190630_223125[5838].jpg20190630_223648[5835].jpg20190630_223125[5838].jpg20190630_223310[5837].jpg20190630_223310[5837].jpg20190630_223310[5837].jpg20190630_223424[5836].jpg

Hi Don. We really regret, but you are correct... yours and others post most likely 'lost in transaction' (upgrade transition). This is unfortunate, but things happened. I am glad you have re-post your work to share with others. :)

As for the build, I wouldn't be the best critic, as I never build POF models. Considering the workmanship it looks very good, with different timber contrast. What wood did you use for gratings? Is it Paduk or Bloodwood?

THANKS GUYS the GRATINGS ARE BOXWOOD THE THE FRAMING IS ROSEWOOD, THIS HAS BEEN AN EXCITING BUILD FOR ME< A GREAT LEARNING PROCESS, I WILL GIVE A RECAP ON WHAT I HAVE LEARNED, MANY, MANY MISTAKES FRAMES, LOWER DECK FRAMING BUT PROGRESIVLY DOING BETTER MAIN, DECK FRAMING RAILS ETC BETTER THEN I EXPECTED, SO A SUCESS AS LONG AS I IMPROVE WITH EACH STEP AND EACH BUILD, AND JIM WITH YOUR SKILLS YOU WILL ENJOY A POF BUILD THE ALERT AWAITS, AND A SHOUT OUT TO SOS AND ALL WHO PARTISAPATED IN THIS BUILD THROUGH YOU AND ALL I OWE WHATEVER PROGRESS I HAVE MADE.
