Short follow up :
Yesterday i received the chains from amazon. I ordered 2 types of similar size (1mm and 1.1 mm diameter). They can't be blackened, also after washing them with several diferent solvents. So I spray painted them.
First I did 2 small samples and decided to use the smallest chain. Link below.
Here is the link for the one "I will NOT use", but just in case you are interested.
Both chains can be seen side by side in the images below.

I need to do a few things on the hull first and the i can continue working with the steering system.
