HIGH HOPES, WILD MEN AND THE DEVIL’S JAW - Willem Barentsz Kolderstok 1:50

Mizzen or no mizzen? Like I said before you can't make the wrong decision. There is a lot to say: "it is" and a lot to say: "it isn't". About this ship there is nothing sure about the way to tell how the ship was build or rigged. There is too less information to speak about right or wrong.

Hello Ron. I would have liked to build a POF kit, but I am afraid that none of the current offerings are of ships that I would like to build or am interested in. I must really want to build a particular ship before I will consider it as a next project. I have no idea why Chinese manufacturers (who manufacture the majority of POF models) have such an infatuation with British or French ships.

My guess he and Hans are cooking up something
Hello Jan. Hans and I regularly talk about models, but that is all. His next project will probably be the Halve Maen in which Henry Hudson sailed. The Halve Maen though, is a ship that is very much along the same lines as the WB, so it does not make any sense for me to build it as it is basically a repeat of the WB.

You are probably correct however, I doubt if it’s made from oak again:)
I have a love/hate relationship with oak, Ron. I love the way it looks but hate working with it. Seeing that I build models for the sake of the building process and not to sit and look at them, I probably won't choose oak. :)

That is the problem with Dutch ships. Even the 17th Century Dutch ships were poorly documented in comparison to other navies, let alone the 16th Century ones.
