I agree with you, Allan, those are some of the best blocks available. They make them single, double, and triple shaves. BTW, they are available in Box, Pearwood, and Ebony, also as small as 1.5mm to 9.00mm (any taste you like)OMG these blocks look like something off a contemporary model compared to the junk blocks we see in from some kit makers. Plus you have rigged them extremely well. Congrats!
Allan
OOO, it's so exciting, first waiting for the parcel, then opening it, taking the first steps))) I remember myself in 2009. I drew the srangouts and waited for the plywood. And then I watered it for several days without stopping)))Christmas is coming….my present to myself (The HMS Enterprise ) is on its way.

Good morning Allan. Thank you very much. I really dislike kit blocks and I have some blocks from Zoly (from Drydock models). They are brilliant quality. Made from boxwood and ebony. Cheers GrantOMG these blocks look like something off a contemporary model compared to the junk blocks we see from some kit makers. Plus you have rigged them extremely well. Congrats!

Good morning Sergey. True story. I believe it will get here on the 17th December so now I have to wrap it and put it under the Christmas tree.OOO, it's so exciting, first waiting for the parcel, then opening it, taking the first steps))) I remember myself in 2009. That rigging! "Disgustingly Acceptable" ----- Love the Christmas Tree and pressies, your one spoilt hubby/Dad. Cheers.Good afternoon.
I cannot get motivated with this rigging. I have been spoilt with good rope and correct scale on my Xebec and the challenges of using left overs has been frustrating. Being stubborn to a fault I continue with a representative rigging plan. Some detail however I am not going to chase accuracy.
The lower shrouds and lanyards for the Mizzen mast.

Busy with serving and preparing the main mast lower shrouds, jeer blocks and restoring the mast dowels.

How on earth does Santa knows what kit was on top of your list? You’re a very lucky man, Grant.Good afternoon.

Wow my friend! That is a beautiful box under the tree - you must be champing at the bit!
Very nice photo of your Xmas tree. I noticed the BIG box among all the colorfull boxes.

Good morning Gentlemen. It would have been really cool if Santa did send me my top of the list model. How on earth does Santa knows what kit was on top of your list? You’re a very lucky man, Grant.

Good morning Allan. I have not been taking pics of build processes with this restoration/rebuild as I am “cheating “ a lot. It was supposed to be a quick zero cost “facelift “ which has now “dragged “ on a little.Hi Grant,
In the fourth photo there is a good look at the mouse. Did you make it? If you did, I really hope you took photos of how you did this so well. It really looks great and I am curious to see what method you used. THANKS
When you open the box for Enterprize, 1774, I hope you download all the high resolution contemporary drawings of her on the Wiki Commons site. There are a few drawings missing but those can be found in low resolution on the RMG Collections site. They could be a big help, along with the original contract for her sister ship Aurora. If you do not have the contract but would like it, please PM me and I can email the transcription of the 1776 document to you.

So good to hear from you again Heinrich!Wow my friend! That is a beautiful box under the tree - you must be champing at the bit!
Great information! Thanks for sharing.I then covered it with a material based plaster (Elastoplast) which has a wide weave.
I love the mouse trick! Consider the idea purloined! (we have" Band-Aid" brand.)Good morning Gentlemen. It would have been really cool if Santa did send me my top of the list model.. In my house I have to self gift such Xmas presents….…. I am also told if it is not wrapped it has to be removed from under the tree……there is bias and prejudice in the Tyler household
.

My mouse is one of those cheats. I shaped a dowel with a hole drilled through the center. I then covered it with a material based plaster (Elastoplast) which has a wide weave. The key is to get the shape cut properly so there is no edge crimping. The join line must be on the under of the mouse (you hardly see this). I then dye it with Indian ink. You then serve the stay from the mouse out as the serving line covers any join of the plaster on the ends. Looks ok but is totally fake.
I will not be opening my Enterprise kit for a while and I do intend to read plenty prior to starting. When it comes to the internal structures and designs of these period ships I am clueless so even with research I’m pretty sure I’m going to bumble along. I have to start somewhere…..I have read the contract you emailed me on the Aurora however I’m going to have to study it more before embarking on my next build. Thanks for this.
Cheers Grant
Good afternoon Johan. Can you believe it is Christmas again….Thanks for the encouragement with my Bounty project. Always appreciated . The rigging at the moment has become “not super fun” so I want Christmas to come so I can open my presentWhile that package sitting idle underneath the Christmas tree is a challenge in itself, I'm more curious about how you'll be pulling of this simple-not-so-simple restauration project with the imposed limitations. To my inexperienced eyes your work looks definitely convincing.
