HMS ALERT 1777 cutter POF by shota70 [COMPLETED BUILD]

good evening dear friends
Tonight I continued to create the gun powder room, while today I created the door of the upper entrance to the room, the frame I already created last night.
I measured the inside of the frame which was 15.16 mm wide x 14.15 mm long. I cut 3 pear wood boards 5mm wide x 14mm long. After sanding the boards, I created a slight slope in the longitudinal lines, to create a deck effect in the connection areas.

In the inner part, I reinforced the door structure with 3 panels that will create a z shape.

After the glue dried, I gently sanded the 3 sides of the door, to give a nice finish. The area of the connection to the hinges is not shaved.

Later I made hinges for the door from copper that underwent a light oxidation process. I connected the door with the hinges to the frame and later I also added a relatively simple locking mechanism.

I am attaching pictures of the result.

Good evening friends
Today I created the hatch of the light house.
The work is the same as the hatch I built in the last few days, so I won't extend the explanations and let the photographs do the work.
I would like to say that I have not yet had time to manufacture and install the hinges for the front door above.
Good night or good day to all of us wherever we may be on our precious earth

Wonderful work Shota, you certainly have impressive abilities, skills and lots of patience. Wonderful workmanship.
You can't consider me an expert, but to me it looks like you're improving your capabilities with every single step in this build. Thumbsup
Thank you very much dear friends,:)
I am flattered by your praise. I try to enjoy the creative process and the result. I am on a site where the members contribute knowledge to each other to improve, for me in this model Maarten is an inspiration and of course also the other members who give very productive comments

step by step more and better details in the model and with each model better results.
Very good work
(do not forget to blacken the ringbolt)

Great progress Shota, love it.
Maybe you can try to make your eye bolts a little bit smaller.
thank you very much my dear friends,
Your praise and comments are important to me, your professionalism and experience are a professional compass for me

good evening dear friends
In the last two days I was able to work a few minutes on the ship, I installed hinges in the door as well as a wooden bucket with dirt which will be placed in the gun powder room.

But what is important for me is that I met our amazing people from the model builder companies in my country. Although we are a small group of friends, it is simply a pleasure to meet friends. Today We met at stuglo's house, we had a delicious breakfast, then stuglo presented us the beautiful model that is a Belding/swan (methods and challenges), later I presented the carving project of the lion figure as well as the components of the gun powder room.
stuglo also showed us the sanding machine which he built with his own hands. If you asked where I am, then don't worry, I'm behind the lens of the camera. You can see Uri and David as well

In conclusion, it was fun to spend Friday with friends

good evening dear friends
Today I created the gun powder barrels,
I made them from boxwood. Unfortunately I didn't take a picture of the preparation, I was focused on the creation and forgot to take a picture.
bags of powder that were placed and stored on the shelves.

Later I permanently glued all the parts of the gun powder room/area, so that in the next week I will prepare the deck which will be placed above the beams of the room. I will prepare the deck to be on part of the area, so that the observer can see the elements of the room. I am attaching pictures showing the develop
ment in stages.

Hi Shota.
It’s very nice to meet your fellow builders. It’s like our meeting in the Netherlands with the Bluenose builders (D.B.B.S). Time is flying those days.
PS: your are adding nice details to your Allert.
Regards, Peter

Dear Peter
thanks for the compliments :)
I agree with you, it's good to meet friends

WOW Shota. I have been very busy lately - I only had some time now to catch up on the logs of my friends. I am amazed at what you have achieved in such a short time. That gunpowder locker room looks absolutely wonderful and very life-like. I have to agree with the comments of our colleagues who said that you are improving every step of the way. Well done my friend! Thumbsup

Hello dear friends
Today I reached a landmark, I created and laid the deck floor above the gun powder room. with that part I finished the creation of the room for me.
I started the process by creating a paper template that simulates the planned deck. The deck was designed so that some of the areas of the room remained exposed, in order to allow the ability to view them and the structure of the room.
20220829_202905.jpg
After that I started to make and place the strip according to the plan as well as the points simulating the nails.
After gluing the plank, I applied a natural wax (on a dong basis) to it, which gave it a darker shade than the dark pinkish color of the wood and turned it into a light brown.

The truth is that this step taught me a lot about the gun powder chambers and required crafting skills.
It seems to me that in the coming week I will return to the carving of the lion figure, you are welcome to visit me there.
During the coming weekend I will spend most of the time celebrating my wife's birthday, I don't know how much time I will have left to create, but it is important to celebrate and give attention to our loved ones.:DBirthday-Cake
