Hello dear friends
Today I opened a new topic, on :
How to dry pieces of mulberry wood
For all those who have relevant knowledge, I would be happy if you follow the link and share your knowledge.
thanks :)

good evening dear friends
In the last few hours I sat down and continue the work process on the bath.
I used a silver plating that would wrap the wooden tub. I glued the non-glossy / matte side of the silver cover, to give the hue and texture of the tin.
I will let the pictures express the process and the result, because I'm just tired from the day at the office.
I placed the parts of the gun powder chamber, just to get proportion, missing more parts I had not yet created.

Since I could not stand the insufficient quality, I started the repair work already tonight.
I peeled the Silver Paper from tub ,
after that I sanded the face and bottom.
I think the sanding also gave the bath a proper proportion both in the thickness and height of the bath.
Tomorrow we will wrap ourselves in foil again.

Hi guys
I would like to encourage you to read and see a new topic I have opened -
Photos and video from a cruise of the replica / ship from Maagan Michael (dated to the 1st millennium BCE) off the coast of Acre

Good evening friends
Today I returned to work on the ship and the gunpowder compound.
Maarten's beautiful work documentation serves as my professional compass. At the current stage I am watching and reading post number #322.

In the first step I installed the copper cladding in the light house. I returned to the board from which the parts of the light house And I cut the different parts and glued them on the walls of the room. This is a thin copper foil rolled into a roll similar to adhesive paper. The gluing and attaching process required finesse respectively.

After this stage I started working on beams 16 and 17

under them are sites the light house sits as well as the pump well and shot locker. I sanded the edges of the beams and also adjusted the parts that sit under them to the sides of the ship. The process requires refined sanding so that the balance between all the parts as well as keeping the beams level. This step is important to continue creating the side walls and floor of the gun powder room.

Hello Shota,
For some odd reason I'm not always receiving update alerts and your updates fall among those not getting through.
Nice progress, your Alert is taking shape and she sure does look good.Thumbsup

I also experience a similar phenomenon in front of friends I follow as well as in the diaries in which I follow a topic/model in construction. I estimate that this is a problem with the forum's software or the tracking settings we put in, I don't know for sure. That's why I try once a week to go through the new posts in order to discover the gaps in the updates.

Hello dear friends
Today I returned to work on the ship and Continu the creating the powder room. Before I can create the cartridge racks in the stern I realized that I need to first make adjustments (in a dry/infinitive way) with the parts of the powder room that located below and connected to the lower deck beams.
First I made the wall of the powder room towards the stern. Later I connected the gun powder room to beams number 18 and 20 as well as the longitudinal beams connecting them both with beams number 19.
In the future I also mean to creating a floor for the powder room.
The adjustment between all the parts required tolerances and sanding and fine adjustments to reach the desired/required result. 20220729_144533.jpg20220729_144749.jpg20220729_150045.jpg20220729_151042.jpg20220729_151217.jpg20220729_171935.jpg20220729_171946.jpgI will let you get an impression of the process through the photos.
I wish you all a pleasant and enjoyable weekend :D

She's coming together rather nicely, Shota, good job!

I'm sorry that I'm not progressing at a slightly better pace, after the vacation I returned to work, and of course there is a considerable load, and the little time I devote to healthy sports (I update myself from a website while walking briskly).
In order to free up time to work on the ship or carving the lion, I have to spare at least 3 hours and even more, for now it only happens on the weekend and even then I try to work at a moderate pace and pay attention to the quality and details. The main thing is that I'm on the wheel/ship. :)

Good evening friends
I finally managed after several days to get free to work on the ship. :)
Today I continued to create the parts of a gun powder room. This time I created the floor of the room, which will later be covered with tin.
I made the three small beams on which the floor rests and in the example I also made the floor. I made the beams from pear wood while making fine adjustments with a variety of tools and the floor from poplar wood in a slightly dark shade.

I'm satisfied with another small progress, I'm attaching photos so you can get an impression.
