Dear Grant
thank you very much for the support, I'm glad you found interest in my build log

Hello dear friends
This is definitely one of my most productive weekends! :D:cool:

Today I completed the installation of the beams for the lower deck, along with the installation of the DL8 longitudinal beam.

after that I began the preparations that required to build the lower deck floor:
First I studied the attached model plans as well as the beautiful work our friend Maarten did on his model. Later I built a stencil of the deck from thick paper on which I glued the deck boards. For now the deck floor is partially done, I still need to drill holes for the nails that fasten the deck boards to the beams underneath. If you look carefully you will be able to see the lines I marked with a pencil to mark the location of the beams and the limits of the drilling. In addition I have to build the frames above the openings.

The long open rectangle along the deck is to allow an opening from which everyone can observe the frames that are being analyzed and not an original opening in the deck plan
I wish everyone a good and blessed week :)Thumbsup

Good evening friends
Tonight I finished preparing and installing the lower deck. First I created the nails, a frame for the opening above the coal store and finally I installed the deck to the cross beams that supported the deck, while helping with two Buddha figurines. The truth is that I am quite satisfied with the result and the fun way.

Good morning Shota. Absolutely agree to have the opening to view the frames. All that detail and work needs to be seen. Cheers Grant

Hello Shota,
The nails look very good. How did you create them?

good evening dear friends
Today I returned to work on the ship, after last week I finished working on carving the lion figure (I am attaching a link for those who missed it https://shipsofscale.com/sosforums/...-ship-la-belle-poule.10057/page-5#post-262266
).
Today I installed the coal locker that I made a few weeks ago. During the installation, I made sure with a level that the beams were balanced.
Later I installed the barrels of the lower deck, which were also builded a few weeks ago. Before installation, I made sure that they were at a height corresponding to the height of the beams of the deck above.
In the coming days I will make the correct adjustments and proportions of the beams to allow their installation later.
Good night everyone

Excellent work my friend. Very well done

Hallo my friend - your deck is looking very good

just two small hints:
on some areas we can still see some of the pencil lines for marking the nailing pattern
and
some treenails are missing (see green lines)

Looks great Shota
Hello Shota, your deck turned out great. And always caressing the belly of the Buddha, that brings good luck. ;)
good evening dear friends
First I would like to thank you for all the compliments and kind words, it's nice to have a friends who know how to support the creation and development process.
And now answers to some of your questions:
The exact holes for the nails were created after an experiment of several ways tried on a variety of trees. I learned that drilling a hole in most trees creates disintegration in the wood fibers at the edges of the circle. Then I tried sticking a pencil on a poplar board and found that the circle came out just right. This is the pencil pen I use.

And regarding the comment about the pencil lines, then Uwek my friend, you are right and greetings for the sharp distinction.
What actually happened was that I didn't erase well enough before applying the wax and the streaks remained. after deliberating I decided that it was less terrible and that after the decking that would be placed on top, they simply wouldn't be seen and also to remind me to be more careful about cleanliness and accuracy in my work.
I wish you all a pleasant weekend and a happy and sweet new year :)
(our New Year's Eve will be on the first of the next day)

good evening dear friends
After the thanks and explanations I will update on what is happening with my work on the ship model.
Unfortunately, there were no time resources this week to work on the ship, and even today I was barely able to find a free time that I devoted to starting work on the galley stove. I located the various parts, removed the various connection points and learned the next steps. Not much, but still a pleasure to work on the ship.
Good night

good evening dear friends
Today I dedicated about six hours to the construction process of the oven. First I read the explanation in the booklet attached to the model as well as the documentation that Maarten uploaded. After understanding the construction steps, I started by inserting the 6 rings that are inserted into the sides of the oven. pay attention that one of them is incomplete. This is the upper ring that connects to the inner rack of the pots and is at an angle of 90 degrees.
Later I made the small side doors on both sides as well as the handles and their locking mechanism.
I also created the width slots in the lower grill of the oven.
Once the sides and interior parts were ready I glued them to the back of the oven where I had initially attached the oven chimney.
When the structure was dry, I painted the stove black, this is the first layer, on which the second layer will join to get perfect uniformity.
I try to give a detailed explanation as much as possible and accompanied by many pictures, because experience has taught me that those who come in the construction process will be able to use them. :)
I wish you all a pleasant weekend and a happy and sweet new year

My Dear Friend. First of all, a very Happy New Year to you and your family! I can only repeat what everyone else said - your deck looks superb and provides an excellent view of the below-deck fitments. That oven really seems like a complicated assembly in itself. I will watch anxiously to see how things are progressing!

happy new year dear friends :)
Between the holiday meals I found a few minutes to paint the oven with the second layer of black.
The holidays In our culture are full of meals with great dishes. after that you must rest, tonight I host with a barbecue dinner, Maybe I will use the black oven:DROTF
