HMS ALERT 1777 cutter POF by shota70 [COMPLETED BUILD]

good evening dear friends
Today I continued working on the sail room, it's almost completely ready.
Today I worked on the hinges - bending the edges into a circle into which the hinge was inserted, blackening the brass, fitting the door and windows and installing them stably. After that I prepared the fabrics for the sails which were placed on the shelves. In addition, making a rack on which blocks were installed/hung.
This is a concise description for long hours of creation.
What remains for me to make are the door and window locks, they will be in the form of a hook that goes down into a gap (a simple locking mechanism).
Good night everyone

Very good, Shota.
You didn't disappoint, adding the hinges.

20221005_135806.jpg20221005_141950.jpg20221005_142534.jpgלאחר המשכתי לעבוד על החלל שלפני הספינה.
. 20221005_155143.jpg20221005_155534.jpg20221005_160319.jpg20221005_160449.jpg20221005_163640.jpg לאחר מכן התחיל לעבוד על הכנת צירי הדלתות, לא ארחיב על ההסברים כי פירטתי על כך בעבר .

Awesome Shota! It is really nice to see how you challenge yourself to make this ship as good as it can be. Keep it up! You will have a model to treasure at the end.
Thank you very much my dear friend, lucky you didn't see my face when I read your words, a blush of satisfaction came over them. It's fun that our work gets recognition, especially from the best in the field. :)

Hello dear friends
Today the fun started, I hosted the monthly meeting of the friends for a hobby from my country. It was a real pleasure to eat breakfast together and talk about our projects . for example David, presented us with the Amati carriage model he is building, it is really beautiful , I presented the latest progress in Alert.

Oh, and an interesting picture of a good, old F4U Corsair, nice!
In all this looks pretty familiar, DBBS meetings...

Dear Shota - The sail room is shaping up to be another great addition to your Alert. And it is so nice to have such get-togethers with friends - you must appreciate it and enjoy every moment!

Good afternoon dear friends
I'm Happy to share with you the work of the last three days. I finished the preparation of the two partitions/walls connecting the keel in the bow and the lateral wall (with the three doors) that was built about a week ago.
The preparation included filling glue between the boards, gluing the support beams according to the markings and removing the partitions from the motherboard.
20221008_155415.jpg20221008_162726.jpg

After that I decided to leave in the coming days/weeks the preparation of the various parts on the lower deck and move to another area of the ship. I started with the necessary preparations as well as the installation of the wale. The decision was made after several days of deliberation, as I am putting a lot of effort into creating the various details and parts on the lower deck and I want anyone viewing the model when the time comes to be able to see both decks clearly. Therefore I decided to separate the two decks the way our good friend Maarten does with his model. I am inspired by the quality and beauty of his work and this is another way to develop creative abilities.
Before preparing the wale, I removed the hull from the berth and glue in the distance pieces for the template to mark the cutting spots for the frames. The template is fitted and at the marked positions I marked the frame with a pencil. After removing the template all the cutting spots are clearly marked. The markers are the timber tops which I use as a reference to determine the wale position.
20221008_165726.jpg20221008_180058.jpg20221008_180821.jpg

Now I could proceed to the preparation of the wale, parts of which are in plate number 28.
20221008_220751.jpg

After removing the 4 parts of each side I shaped the shape of each part in a wale, heated a pot of boiling water on low heat and each part was shaped to the required configuration. I checked the joining points between the parts and sanded where needed.
20221008_224712.jpg20221008_231730.jpg20221008_231930.jpg

after everything was ready I started gluing each part/quarter separately and after each side was glued I sanded where needed and returned the ship to its jig.
I have more work to do, so we'll hear from you later this week

Good morning Shota. Wonderful work. I thoroughly enjoy your sail room with all the extra details. I would trim the loose threads off the sail in the room just to make it neater. Your wale and the joints look awesome. Cheers Grant
