HMS ALERT 1777 cutter POF by shota70 [COMPLETED BUILD]

The wales are a very important part of the build, and your first ones look very good on the ship. I will continue to follow your progress.

Hi Shota,

Great to hear you are cutting her in two.
A iniature Japanese saw set can be easily bought online, they are not expensive.

If you need any help let me know.
Dear Johan
yes, I would appreciate your help regarding the Japanese saw
thanks shota

good evening dear friends
first of all thank you very much for your support and likes :)Thumbsup
Today I continued with the construction of the wale, when this time I prepare the two upper panels, each consisting of 3 parts.
I decided that one side of it I would keep the natural color of the wood and on the other side the wale would be black and yellow similar to the Maarten model.
I'm a bit tired so I'll let the pictures reflect the slight progress.
Good night o_O:)

Are you sure you want to cut this ship Shota? You have a beautiful model right now and I would be very, very sad for you if the cutting went badly...
Dear Paul
thank you for your concern, believe me that the decision was made after a difficult deliberation, however the desire to allow a person/child who will view the model to be impressed by the work and even learn about the structure of the ship in an optimal way is what contributed greatly to the decision.
I admit that the decision is not easy for me either and I am afraid of the quality and precision of the cutting, I promise to do it with maximum care and precision. Thank you dear friend :)

My intention was to get a recommendation on a website that sells a quality saw with a blade thickness of 0.4 millimeters. Thank you
Hi Shota,

See below the saw set I have. The larger blades are realy thin and perfect for the job.

If you want to do it I showed step by step in my blog how I did it.

Hello dear friends
Today the fun started, I hosted the monthly meeting of the friends for a hobby from my country. It was a real pleasure to eat breakfast together and talk about our projects . for example David, presented us with the Amati carriage model he is building, it is really beautiful , I presented the latest progress in Alert.

After the meeting I went to attend a friend's birthday party.

in short I am satisfied and also tired, so I am going to rest.o_O:D
I wish you all a pleasant and enjoyable weekend
Oh, and an interesting picture of a good, old F4U Corsair, nice!
In all this looks pretty familiar, DBBS meetings...
Hi Shota. I love this kind of meeting. Just like Johan said: like our BN meetings!
Regards, Peter

Therefore I decided to separate the two decks the way our good friend Maarten does with his model. I am inspired by the quality and beauty of his work and this is another way to develop creative abilities.

Yes ……. Another cutting action upcoming in the future!
Now it is your mind, no way back……… But you will certainly succeed, Shota.
You have already thought about it and you will certainly develop it further.
Maarten did it, I did it …….. and it’s ‘not really surprising’ that it works. With a good and rigidly constructed hull, it’s ‘simply possible’.
On this side you can also look at the different type a Japanese saw’s there are. It’s in Dutch, but the pictures tells a lot:
Regards, Peter

Hi Shota,

Most important is to go for a saw with very fine teeth. The one I use has 52 teeth per inch.
A course saw will splinter your frames.
thank you very much my dear friends Thumbsup:)

Hello dear friends
In the last few days I had to focus on taking care of a relative who was hospitalized (we are here on vacation because of the holidays). Unfortunately, he is expected to stay there for a few more days and I take care of him every day.
Today I sat down to clear my head and soul by going back to building the ship - the wale.
I completed the installation of the first three rows on the side that I will leave in natural cherry wood color, I applied natural wax on it.

I also made the holes for the anchor ropes. 20221014_163746.jpg
Later on, I painted the boards of the other side in deep yellow, as well as the board that was pasted a few days ago in black.

I'm not going into too much detail because I'm just exhausted, so I'll let the pictures speak for themselves.
I wish you all a pleasant and healthy weekend
