HMS ALERT 1777 cutter POF by shota70 [COMPLETED BUILD]

good evening dear friends
I'm still debating how to proceed with the wale, and with an emphasis on the boards that were painted yellow, one of the options is to replace them with boards from boxwood, which itself maintains an egg-yolk yellow shade, I have a few more ideas, I promise to update when the decision is made and I will proceed with the execution. Unfortunately, no progress is expected at work in the coming weeks because I'm really busy taking care of the hospitalized family member and later on I have to go on vacation to get some air from all the stress of the last two weeks. So for now I would like to share a new topic that I started, you are welcome to take a look
Upgrade of the CNC 3018 wood router machine, from 3Axis to 4 Axis
I will try to continue to be active on the site and follow your amazing works, dear friends, but I will not be working on my various projects in the coming month.

We will keep in touch dear friends

Hello dear friends
I do not have any updates on the construction of the model, but I would like to share with you photos from a birthday trip I am doing with my youngest son. These days we are in San Francisco and on the way to the port of the city I came across a sailing ship against the background of the landscape of Alcatraz prison.
Enjoy the pictures

Hi Shota,

Enjoy San Fransisco, if you are there take the oportunity to visit the Liberty ship Jeremiah O Brian. A realy nice engine room with its original steam engine. It was even used for the engine room parts of the film Titanic.

Thank you very much, dear friends, for the comments and recommendations. I have been to this city twice before and visited the sites and ships you recommended. There is a very nice museum (San Francisco Maritime) and I recommend visiting it.
In addition, shortly after Pier 39, there is a souvenir and antique shipping equipment shop that also displays and sells a made models in good quality and even better, so those who visit the city , I recommend to visit this shop as well.

I got it in the 90s' but i found that kit so poor that I suddenly abandoned the idea to waste my time with it. I sold it via e-bay years ago.

Is it possible to achieve a plans or monograph for the La Flore model ?
I really liked the ship and would like to build it someday.

Hi Shota, have a look at the German forum, there is a section with the research, here is the link. Great pictures and I hope you had a nice time in San Francisco.

good evening dear friends
After 3 weeks of break, today I finally returned to work on the model. I admit I missed it. I decided to adopt the idea that the boards that were painted yellow in wale, will be replaced by boards made of boxwood. First I started by injecting alcohol on the boards at the point of attachment to the frames. I then slowly removed the plaques using a scalpel knife and dentist's accessories.

In the next step, I started preparing 1.7 mm thick boxwood boards from which I will create the boards for the new planking according to the original board from the kit.

I admit that I didn't know how difficult it was to cut a block of birch wood, later it turned out that I had to change the cutting disc to a thinner one. When I tried to reach the required thickness using Proxxon's Thicknesser DH 40, I realized again that it is not suitable for such a task because it leaves marks on the wood.

To my delight, in the coming days I will finish preparing a new Thicknesser for delicate tasks (I will attach details and pictures in the coming days separately).
I did not make significant progress, but I wanted to share with you that I am back on track with the creation of the model.
