Hi Shota,

Very nice, also the colour of the oil gives a nice warm colour.
One remark is the place where the barrels are, this is impossible as the barrels can t pass the corridors next to the entrance to store them in the aft peak.

Today I returned to work on the ship, after last week I finished working on carving the lion figure (I am attaching a link for those who missed it https://shipsofscale.com/sosforums/...-ship-la-belle-poule.10057/page-5#post-262266
).
Today I installed the coal locker that I made a few weeks ago. During the installation, I made sure with a level that the beams were balanced.
Later I installed the barrels of the lower deck, which were also builded a few weeks ago. Before installation, I made sure that they were at a height corresponding to the height of the beams of the deck above.
In the coming days I will make the correct adjustments and proportions of the beams to allow their installation later.

Today I continued working on the deck beams.
First I arranged them according to the attached drawing,

then I started gluing the cross beams to the small beams that serve as a base for the openings that will be prepared later.

I even managed to make a first frame for the opening. I decided that the supporting columns for the beams will be installed in the next phase of installing the beams to the ship's hull and not in the current phase.

but plumbing problems in the home kitchen sink needed to be addressed.
After about an hour and a half of disassembly, cleaning and reassembly, the problem was solved.

But unfortunately I got tired of work and folded up the various tools and parts.
 I will continue next weekend :)

Those are, more often than not, smelly and dirty jobs. And always lacking the right parts...

Nice steady going on the Alert.
To bad we won't see anymore updates until next week...
 
Preparing the beams and carlings based on the drawings only, you have a risk, that maybe the beams are too short when you install them into the hull.
Too long no proble, but too short .......
Hope that you checked the lengths of the drawing with the real model .....

It is looking very good :cool:

Good evening dear friends
Today I just had a enjoyable day, the work flowed smoothly and fun.
I made significant progress in installing the deck beams and hatches.
It is important to say that during the installation and construction process I tried to be careful about the balance of the beams and between them (to ensure that the deck board flow smoothly) and also maintaining the center line based on the stern of the ship. I would like to clarify that I still have quite a bit of work to do on the lower deck
Since I'm a bit tired I'll let the pictures express the process and the result.

Wow - I really had to catch up now. I love EVERYTHING! The coal locker, the barrels, the hatch and hinges and the deck beams all look first class my friend! Your Alert is looking beautiful!
