I like it very much - looking very good and just one more small highlight to see on your model 
My captain has a fancy taste as we have already seen with his bed so I decided to give him a proper desk for his day room.
This desk will be an expensive one but lets asume he is a young captain from proper English aristocracy.
The desk I make from ebony, actually an old piano key. On old pianos these were often made from ebony.
You can recognize real ebony by the fact that it sinks in water and that it is black in its core.
After cutting of a small 2x2 mm strip I put it in the lathe to turn it to 1,5 mm round.
With a preshaped razor blade I scrape in the pattern I want for the legs of my desk and chair.
I have also cut a slice as my table top and in the mill created some fancy edges to it.
The rear of the desk gets some drawers, again made ebony with drawer fronts from walnut veneer. On top again a strip of profiled ebony.
Glued together to finish the top.
Make the legs and the desk is finished.
Now a chair to go with it.
Again sliced some ebony, shaped it ad milled a profile in it around the edges.
Glued together the seat and back.
Added the legs and the set is finished.
The space is quite cramped on board, even for the captain. So his desk will be on top of the hatch to the powder room. Of course during battle his wil be stored, but this seems to be the most logical place. The space between the deck is only 1,85 m and the cabin doors are only 1,60m so everything is small on board a cutter.
On the rear wall is a painting of the alert.

.Good new and bad news. The good news my chisel set from Mikhail is in, and I am flabbergasted with what he can make, just marvelous, see below.
The quality of these is amazing, I tested a few on some solid pear wood along and across the grain and they cut like a hot knife in butter.
I have his default 23 chisel set and expanded it with 5 additional curved chisels to make hollow cuts. On my new project these will come in handy for the carvings.
The bad news is that this was his last set he send abrought due to the situation at the moment. He doesn t see any possibility to ship them outside Russia. These are strange and sad times that specific people are hurting so many others. Hopefully this all will end soon and people can pick up their regular life again but am afraid this will not end soon.
In the mean time work on Alert is slow progress.

From some basswood I made the strips to keep everyting in the racks during rough seas.
On the racks I made some bags with ships biscuits.
These I made from some fine cotton stuffed with foam and glued with PVA.
Fitting them in place.
At last I made a small hatch for the tar pit. This is located in the boatswain store, the last space to finish before going to the upper deck.

Thousands of people die every day. At least a million women and children are on the run while their men are fighting. Tens of thousands of refugees come to our country every day and continue west. Three nuclear power plants in Eastern Europe are under fire or burning...
...and you are solving the problem with delayed delivery of chisels???
