As noted above very great work indeed. Each of your build logs reflect your advancing skills and expertise.

I’m sharing – When I was working on my Santisima cross section – a few years ago, I Googled for help. Your full build Santisima came up within those searches. I was so impressed -way beyond my skill level. At the same time I, obviously, also discovered Ship of Scale. Two perfect wins…I have since then been an active member of your always growing site. and intend on yearly donations as well.

I commend you on this build. Very impressive. I will say for those looking to buy this model. It is not worth it. I made the mistake of following this build and shortened the keel to match the drawings. After much back and forth with the seller it turns out the drawings are not to scale and are for informational purposes only! I asked for them to send me pieces to replace the keel. 4 weeks later I receive only one of three replacement parts because something got lost in translation. I don’t know if I’ll ever get the replacement parts now. All this to say that this model is NOT worth the almost $1000. What a waste of money.
 
It has been a week and I haven’t heard back from the seller. They’ve gone dark. I even offered to pay for the pieces, shipping, and time the seller would spend to replace the parts, but no response. This model is $1000 and I’m completely blocked. I implore people NOT to purchase this kit. If you mess up you will never get a replacement. Stick with UK models that have customer service and can replace parts.

Who is the seller you are talking about?and where did you contact them?Maybe I can help you.Also keep in mind that in China is Sprig Festival celebration started (Chinese New Year) and maybe they are off.
 
Thanks for the response, Zoly. I’ve been in contact with Max Zeng. He sent me one of three replacement parts and hasn’t responded since I received the one piece over a week ago. The email I’ve been sending to is modelshipkit@gmail.com. If there are holidays in China I totally understand and have no problem waiting. However, there was no OOO auto response with a return date and I didn’t know about Spring Festival celebrations, so I assumed they decided to ignore me.
 
Ok Guys, if @Golgobot is at his wits, he is at his wits, and I understand that. There are also many misconceptions about manufacturers and dealers in China. Max Zeng from ZHL Models is known as a very reputable seller who stands by the products he sells. However, for the purpose of Unicorn models, ZHL is only the retailer, Unicorn is obviously the manufacturer. Unfortunately, Zoly is 100% right in saying that we have now entered the period of Spring Festival. Even in China when buying directly from Unicorn, they state a delivery time of 30 days in China - all due to Spring Festival. I would suggest sending Max a follow-up mail around mid-February and see what happens. If you still do not have any luck, PM me directly.

There are many builds on this forum which involve models from ZHL and Unicorn and with which builders have no problem. I have already told you why you have not heard from Max Zeng - it is you who chose to ignore the information. You are on your own as far as I am concerned.

Clearly I didn’t know about spring festival literally until now. I ran into an issues with the build because the drawings do not match the laser cut pieces. I didn’t know which one was right: the laser cut or the drawings. I made the assumption that the drawing were right and proceeded. I chose wrong and required 2 replacement sheets and a single plank. After a lengthy back and forth and 4 weeks I only received one sheet in the mail. I emailed them over a week ago and have not heard back. There was no auto reply in the email explaining Spring Festival. They just went dark. I posted here in frustration and to let people know that if you require a replacement you might not get it. It was then that Zoly said why they might not be responding. Then everyone started yelling at me.

Thank you for your good intentions. Nevertheless, my experience with ZHL Models/Max was always excellent. I acquired many kits from him. One is this model. He always gave 30 days for the customer to check that there isn't any missed part in the kit. Nevertheless, after a several months, during my built of anothe model, I broke a carving piece and I realized that 3 kit pieces where missing. He sent me those parts immediately. And he is just the seller, not the developer.
 
This conversation put me to think that i am going to built this model as soon as I finish my modified Russian submarine. This thread/built done by Donnie has so many details that is better than any instruction manual. I followed it during the built and I was speechless on how detailed Donnie was.
