Maybe it would be better to keep it simple and use brass chain with elongated links. There are other sizes, the one below is just as an example. If you decide to duplicate the actual shapes I hope you show us how you do it, be it photo etched metal or plastic links or whatever you wind up with. This is getting really interesting.....
