HMS GRANADO - full hull - POF kit by CAF in 1:48 - by Uwe

Happy belated Birthday. Are the Dwgs that are shown laying rudder on from the Anatomy of the Ships books or is that a Dwg from the kit… CAF? Many thanks and great build.
These are drawings of the book - I recommend to have it at hand building a bom vessel HMS Granado - either from Jotika or CAF

I wish you all a nice weekend - happy modeling
Good morning Uwek. Your build is a “thesis” of the saying “ it’s all in the detail”. Are you going to take your Japanese saw to the rudder ? Cheers Grant

Starting with the tiller
first the hole or notch in the rudder blade

still not sanded - important is in moment the connection with the rudder

and I recognized how terrible my working place is - what a mess ?????

Many Thanks for your interest in my work .... to be continued ......

You need a few more tool holders, the one in the back are full. I couldn't work like that, seeing these expensive and rare micro chisels lying around there. (they come with a toolbox)
And al those permanent markers, if they are done threw them in the bin. Looks like you collect them. And is that an old sandwich in the right corner? You definitely need some therapy to get order in your life, Maybe asked some help from Marie Kondo..... :cool:ROTF

Oh, I thought you’d snuck in and taken a photo of my workbench. On second thoughts yours is far more…. er…. messy ROTF
I can relate. I've got seven benches in my retired furniture restoration shop in my basement. I am currently working on one model, and yet all my work surfaces look like that.
Nature, as she does a vacuum, abhors an empty flat worksurface.

You build like I do! You start off putting the tools away as you go but then something happens and the rubble starts building. The more you do the higher the pile of stuff grows around the part you are making. I can’t get anything done unless I haul out just about every tool I have. You are the same way.
Great work on the rudder.

Ha Ha - I did not expect, that my working place could be subject of some discussions.... I guess you see all your own working place with another eye.....

She did a better job in my workplace.
Do you know the term "Streber"?
- only to show the green mats -

I am not lazy to search for my tools .... like @Tobias menzioned correctly
