Hello guys, I have started the preparation for deck planking, thickness 2 mm and the width is 6 mm , wood type is teak.Noting glued in just cutting timbers to size.

Nope, Pva and Ca

Surprising. Cabinetmakers say that PVA does not work with teak because of the high oil content. I also had a bad experience once with an old shipmodel which I had to restore. PVA did not work, I had to use epoxy.

Look at the margin planks, I used Pva and CA , also look at my Santa Mara , deck planking all teak , never had issues

Hello Zolly, just catching up on your build log. Your decking sure is looking great, well done. I have a couple of questions that is if you do not mind and they are. How are you cutting your scarf joints, on a jig or in a mill? What type of paper are you using for the caulk lines, I tried this many years ago with very little success? Thanks.

Thank you Lawrence,I did not use any jig or mill,I cut the margin planks with a scroll saw, left some meat on them than used my files to shape scarf joints to match each other. For caulking, I am using regular black construction paper.

Deck planking preparation moving ahead ,I cut more planks to size ,not sure if they are enough,will see as I glue them down,also there will be two wider row of planks each side ,regular 6mm ,wider ones 9mm,I used my band saw to cut 9mm wide strips.

So the planking/caulking begun ,this paper caulking is very delicate and slow process.

A little update on planking and caulking,actually the caulking simulation takes up most of the time,glueing the paper on the edge of each plank .

I do not know exactly,must be between 0.250 - 0.500 mm, school construction paper
