Well I have finished the decoration of the hull. A small amount of Kit bashing in that I wanted red frames on the big gunports as a lot of ships had. The colour scheme is really over the top, looks more like a budgerigar than a boat...but I guess that's what the Tudors did..? The paper patterns are quite good quality and can be pasted on pretty easily with 50/50 PVA / Water. Perhaps the most surprising thing at this stage is that given the number of times I have had to turn the boat that I havent managed to break the bowsprit. Would be great to have a table with a rotating section like a lazy susan. The idea of tying a big bundle of coloured tape and paper towel to it to make it really stand out seems to have worked.
I had quite a lot of difficulty with the Mary Rose with shrouds over gunports and annoying "wrong" things like that...maybe it was mistakes on my part, but I dont expect that here, this is a much better kit than Mary Rose I think.
