Hms Vanguard 1787 1:72 - Victory Models/Amati

Hi all
It's monsoon season in darwin and it's been hammering down all night and today .
So over the last 2 weeks just been filling and sanding ,then happy with that I put on a sanding sealer which made it come up great .
Now I'm doing the lower gun ports as it says to recess these 1 mm for the gun port lids and the outer layer is 1 mm .all good happy modelling and onwards with the gun ports

Hi guys work is slowing down my shipbuilding ,that's life, but all good just about finished gun ports .I'll leave the top back 4 and also leave the top 2nd planking until the deck is on

Just an update
I got all the gun port patterns finished ( bar the ones without lids they are 2 be done after 2nd planking) + I added the quarter galleries patterns now it's time 4 the 2nd planking I added the front toiletries so I could plank up to them all good up to now

Very good progress, Snowy and good luck for your second planking. What timber did Amati supply for the final layer?

Also, if you don't mind, can you start a new thread for Amati's Drakar. I would follow your thread for sure. That would be great. :)

Still doing the 2nd planking so I thought I would move on to other objects that will have to be attended to .i have finished the binnacle and the ships bell and I did the gun ports separately as I wanted overhang the same as on the top and bottom

Yeah mate I'm still thinking she will become the bellerphoron.
And yes it's an amati- victory kit so there will be copper plates .
The paint scheme I'm still thinking about as it's either nelson chequer style or a bit of both as shown on plan20200422_075905.jpg

G'day all
Well with coronavirus I've had heaps of time on my hands.
So I finished the 2nd planking and the Wales and now just put on the down strakes for the boats now sure of part names .
Now time to sand down and tape off before painting ,then the copper

Hi all
Has been a while but work has picked up a bit .
In the meantime I have been able to finish one side of the copper tiles ,and what a mission .I decided to do a minor overlap with the tiles . All good now to the other side .
I will say it was tricky buisness and after much research she has ended up like this
