Then I used lathe to make a notch on the tip of the piece.

Then I used my super good Proxxon mill set to make imitation of the sheave at front part of the boom.

Covered a newly made boom with some Shellac and installed it on the ship. Here some pictures.

Dit is een kopie van het bouwlogboek dat in maart van dit jaar (2018) is gestart:
Ik besloot om de HMS Victory van Mamoli op schaal 1:90 te bouwen. De redenen? Ik wilde een model dat a) relatief complex is; b) niet te groot, zodat ik er in mijn appartement aan kan werken (ik ben een paar jaar geleden uit huis verhuisd); c) een prachtig en historisch belangrijk schip voorstelt. De keuze viel op de Victory. Ik koos voor de Mamoli-kit vanwege de schaal, de prijs en de mooie details. We zullen zien hoe het gaat. Hier is een kit. Ik denk dat hij uit circa 2006 stamt. Ik heb hem via eBay gekocht voor in totaal ongeveer 400 dollar, inclusief invoerbelasting voor Canada.View attachment 159359

I almost finished rigging a bowsprit members with spritsail included. I found a problem. I am confused at how was it possible to hang the spritsail topsail off the jib boom when right under this sail there would be four martingale ropes preventing for this sail to hang there. Looks like we eighter can have a sail there or the four martingale ropes, but not both. I posted this question at both SoS and MSW sites and still waiting for answers. I however have a suspicion that at the time they introduced the dolphin striker with its martingale lines the spritsail topsail idea was abolished, this sale was never used and jib and flying jib sails were used instead. I am rigging up my model now with sails and there is no way I am able to mount a spritsail topsail where it is supposed to be unless martingale lines are removed. Please look at attached drawings and pictures.
