HMS Victory Mantua 1:78 (first build) by Grant Tyler

Good morning Johan......Pauls redo aspects are my perfect. ROTF. No bites for Paul;). Cheers Grant
Oh no, Paul's commitment to no re-do's, while admirable, will be his own downfall.
This is the sort of remark you make, full of confidence, just before you slip and fall hard over that one disregarded banana-peel...
Frankly, I am fully anticipating one of Paul's (@dockattner) next posts to hold some form of an unacceptable non-conformance to Paul's high build standards.

That looks absolutely magnificent Grant! The triangles formed by the light-colored lines are so precise and symmetrical - how on earth you managed to do that, only you will know. And on the last pic, knowing exactly in which directions the Victory's bow is pointing, she seems set to take out to sea!

Hi Grant,

Absolutely awesome work.
Your attention to detail is amazing.
I am sorry I have not managed to read all the way through your build log yet as I have not been a member long and have only just come across your log.
I will be keeping my eye on it now.

Good afternoon Heinrich. Getting the yards and lift lines mostly symmetrical was difficult. Each time you tension one side the other moves…. And when I attempted to tie them off to the belay pins/forescastle they move again. Was interesting .

Thanks @Pathfinder65 , @Tobias , @RogerD , @jamiebradley426 , @ConsNZ , @BLD SHPS , @Martin555. , @Philski
Really fantastic Grant. Tensioning all those lines just so is no small accomplishment. I'll also affirm your decision to leave off sails. The contrasts and clean lines are highlighted so nicely here that sails would be a massive distraction on your build. She's going to be a BEAUTY!
Thanks Paul. I never really had a reason to leave off the sails. I just knew with so much rigging the decision was already made for me. I am enjoying the no sail look so far. Cheers Grant
