Kingfisher 1770 1:48 POF

Your daughter and family the best congratulations on the wedding, happiness and blessings for life.
My wife also had Corona for Christmas, the virus apparently did not like me, although I am not vaccinated. We are all looking forward to the launch of the Kingfisher. As Christian said look at everything well make a plan and start in peace.

That’s a great photo of you and your daughter Paul. My best wishes to everyone and especially the new couple.

There’s no pressure on starting your new build despite the gentle humorous prodding from the gallery. As you well know the research and preparation can be as just much fun as the doing. Take your time, we’ll still be quietly chatting amongst ourselves, not going anywhere :).

I promise to get started soon everyone!

Turns out my daughter's recent wedding was a COVID super-spreader event :(. Not only did the bride end up with it ("Dad, I hugged 180 people, how could I NOT get COVID") - but so did all of her grandparents (on both sides) along with many of our guests. One grandfather has now been hospitalized because of some coincidental medical problems. Anyway, there are more important things in front of me right now so the promised early-to-mid January launch date has been delayed.

As I have studied this LSS kit more soberly I've come to realize that it is really just a starter kit for a scratch build. I don't mean this is a negative sense - but this is not a kit in the same way that some of the recent high-end kits coming out of the east are. While I don't need to trace out frames and cut them from dimensional stock - everything after that looks and feels like a scratch build. This kit is a set-up for a true craftsman style build. I'm rather happy with this as it affords me the opportunity of a rich learning experience in a controlled environment.

Bottom line: I need to spend a bit more time studying the workflow (techniques and practices) of a scratch-built model...

I guess it's now obvious that I post in real time :) rather than after-the-fact... Turns out after-the-fact would have been better in this case. My apologies.

Good thing my back is turned so you can't see if I'm crying...

That is a beautiful picture! They grow so fast! I remember my daughter sitting beside me as I taught her BASIC programming on a TI994A computer...now she is 50 with two boys of her own! The Lord sure has made my life interesting and fun (most of the time anyway).

Good afternoon Paul. That picture says everything. Dad and daughter moment for sure . Cheers Grant

Also jumping on board, follower 42 and counting:).
Squeezing in, but still in time for the show to start. The Kingfisher is a strikingly beautiful sloop, well chosen.

Congratulations on the wedding of your daughter, a beautiful photo of you two together. You must be very proud.
I hope the Covid aftermath turns out well. Wishing you all good health.

Hi.I congratulate you.you have a beautiful daughter.I wish her good health and a peaceful sky over her head.I've always dreamed of a daughter.after all, she can be pampered until her old age.but God gave me two sons.and not a single daughter.

Beautiful picture, beautiful daughter, beautiful moment.

Congratulations all round Paul Thumbsup
My guess…he was whispering in her ear… “Are you sure about this? He didn’t know the difference between Noah’s Ark and the Wasa!” (One sunk on her maiden voyage and the other was unsinkable!) :p

Hi Dean,

Nice to hear from you. But this is a different daughter and a different guy (though you do have an excellent memory!). That other guy is still sniffing around but he's interested in my oldest daughter. The wedding was for my youngest and her new husband is a winner - exactly the type of man you would want your daughter to marry! I'm thrilled!

Just checking in for the beer to crash the wedding? Congrats Paul!! She looks truly happy and greatfull.... Thumbs-Up

Thanks Paul, well I am very happy for you! And your daughter!
I have had a few son in laws I would rather not have…sigh, so enjoy getting a good one! :p

I caught Covid and I didn't even go to the wedding!

Sorry for being late to this build log... any longer and Paul would have finished the ship.
