Everything look‘s fantastic on deck. I‘m also building the La Candelaria, just finished 2nd planking. Thx a lot for the amazing pictures, I admire your work.A few more photos from different angles.View attachment 554783View attachment 554784View attachment 554785

Good tip which I didn't think of but will take note of it.
Supports are in & the main deck fits nicely in place.
I experimented simulating chalking with some scrap lumber & decided that using sewing thread looked the most realistic as you can see on the mortar deck. It needs to be trimmed, tree nails added & stained. Chalking the main deck in this manner will be tedious. Any thoughts on this technique?

The only thing, I am not happy with- THE WEBLINGS- I have allays kearnes that the diameter shoud be 4 to 5 times thinner than the shrouds.-sorry, el capi.Hi everyone. After about a years hiatus from building my ship I started back up about a month ago. For me this is a winter project as I have other projects going on from spring through autumn. I also missed & did not record a lot of steps in my log. Sorry about that sometimes I become a little lazy when I shouldn't.
Anyway, in the last month I installed the mast & have most of the standing rigging up. now I'm working on the shrouds & ratlines. Instead of using the kit supplied rope I went with Syren Ship Model Co. rope which does not have the fuzziness. For the ratlines I think I may have gone a little too large (.45mm) & didn't notice until I had a few of them in place. For this 1:85 scale model I spaced them at 5mm apart.View attachment 554770View attachment 554771
Other then the rigging I upgraded a few other items including the life boat which is the Vanguard Models 18ft. cutter.View attachment 554778
